Yes that's our stuff, thanks for posting that link, I hadn't seen it yet.

One note, just so there is no confusion. Matt installed our kit with no problems or distortion to his flat hood, you'll see he used a spread of filler all around the opening of the trim ring area, it's a very thin blend coat but looks like allot of filler in his pics. This IS NOT a normal/nessesary part of properly installing our kit. The first pic shows what the hood looked like before he added the filler, it's clean and all metal on top, no "custom bondo shaping" required for Harms parts to mate with the original hoods surface and contours.


Matt painted his car black so he wanted every imperfection ironed out, his flat hood was full of imperfections before he did any modifications, the filler coat was added so that he could block it all out flat and end up with a mirror smooth finish on the top of his hood, something factory hoods never had. Anyway, the hood came out looking super and he's a happy camper.

I like the fact that the installer leaded the seam.   Definitely a good way to go.

I'm still contemplating this or repop.  My '71 flat B'Cuda hood is real nice and has the right crumple zones for my car.

I will be honest, I have sat back and rode the fence on the subject and there is good and bad for both camps as far as I am concerned but if I had access to a flat hood in that shape I would go with a kit, especially if you have a welder. I have a couple of nice original Challenger flat hoods and I will choose one to make into a shaker for my 70 Challenger when I get to it. I am bummed that Harms is getting priced out of the picture as I feel it is a viable option. There is more to doing a car than the sum of the parts, I want to be connected with my car and do as much work myself as possible. I have not doubt I could do the conversion with the tools I have and knowing I have a couple of good flat hoods to choose from it is the only way I will go, provided I can still get a conversion. Please reconsider stopping the production of the conversions Scott. That being said it will be a few years before I can get deep into the 70, I have to finish my 71 first. I feel like the people that want to do the work themselves are not worried about the hours of labor to convert a hood with a kit. Sure dollars do mean something but knowing I have the hoods makes the conversion kit more desireable to me. I am not overly worried about which is more correct even, it is about pointing to a beautiful shaker hood and being able to say "I did that". Not knocking either camp at all, just stating my own personal preference.

At least, keep the CHALLENGER kit production going.

There are more 1970 Challenger flat hoods than others and the only other supplier (Snobar) doesn't have the right underhood brace.

Goody, I think your car will be awesome with a twin bulge hood.  I'm sure they'll get more plentiful as Shakers will start showing up on every other e-body real soon here.

Goody, I have something new in the works that's better aligned for your cars style. It may be a year or so away and probably still over budget but man it would look sweet on that car.

With Goodys age group I would suspect the something new you are talking about would be very popular.

When I have something more solid to offer I'll post the info here. i don't want to let the cat out of the bag all the way just yet. Just know that Harms is working hard at bringing forward something fresh and new for the E-body fans to enjoy

I was wondering when CF TA and AAR hoods were gonna show up...  While the shaker is really cool (and I should have 2 flat hoods w/ my Challenger) I'm thinking about a T/A hood

I've looked through the product line and it is quality stuff...

CF AAR or T/A hood w/matcing rear spoilers would be KILLER!

And matching CF tape side striping...oh, would that be too sweet!  I'd get a 318 '70 Chally hardtop just to make such a clone!

I love the Shaker and rally hood on a Challenger, pretty equal

The Rally style for the Cuda I did not like as much, but

I never quite got the liking for the T/A hoods...
