Challenger emblem ?
« on: September 25, 2007 - 08:37:40 PM »
The Challenger emblem on the back of a 71 (this one with 3 studs), is it the same as a 70 grille emblem? The 71 emblem has part number 3570519 on the back. Thanks.

I would say no. The 70 grille emblem has a angled back to it and not flat like the fender emblems.

His ad says he will not break up the set... I only need one emblem, it's for the trailer...

I would say no. The 70 grille emblem has a angled back to it and not flat like the fender emblems.

More questions... Do some of the fender emblems have the studs? Or is this a 71 only emblem??  :clueless:

Thanks.

The grille emblems had the studs - they fit into insert holes in the grille.  My understanding is that 70-71 fenders had pilot holes, so the emblems had studs and the 72-74 rear quarter emblems were stick-on.  Year One sells them with and without studs.

Dave,

  Useless Mike here.

The front fender emblems on my car have three studs, but they are bigger than the emblem in my grill, which also has 3 studs, and is somewhat slanted. I believe I have been NO help here.   :grinno:

70 Challenger grille emblem is angled as stated. The studs are around 1/2 inch long.

Realy Mike this helps, as the 71 tail emblem is the same size as the fender emblem. But all the new ones I find are the stick on type or they don't have part numbers listed. Know where to get any new fender emblems with the studs???

purple1, the grille emblem is angled so you can read it as you look down at it.  Depending on where you are using the emblem on your trailer, this might be something to consider.

No it is for the rear tail panel on the trailer. I have one but the chrome has faded. I was looking on e-bag and could not see the angle in the 70 grille emblems. If I can get a new one I will put it on the car and the one from the car can replace this faded one. Emblems on the side is an option I will think about. Thanks.

I just don't think they will work on the tail panel with the textured paint. I have 2 of the stick on type already I was going to use on the sides of the car. Thanks anyway Mike, but I think these have to have the studs...  :faint:

Being that the tailpanel is angled, I would suggest the angled grille emblem to make the Challenger script to sit on a horizontal (flat) level so it can be easily read from behind.
