Using braided hoses for transmission?

I want to be able to route them out of the way easily plus it looks cool... anyone do this? I found a kit but it seems expensive... here is the link: http://www.bowlertransmissions.com/itemdetails.aspx?iid=29

As long as it's rated for the temps I don't see why not.  It's just more money than tubing although the CNC pre- bent tubing isn't cheap either.  I'm guessing the lengths are for stock lower rad coolers and not for after market coolers where you might not more length.

I bought steel tubing from Inline-tube for my tranny lines for half that price. Yes, those look cool, but who is laying under your car at a car show?  :lol:

It looks like a good kit to me. :grinyes: I wish they had a closer picture of the fittings.

Never mind......."All ends are -6 female AN and require cooler or adaptors with -6 male AN fittings"  ;D

i did all my stuff with -6an braided line/fittings..... even put in a temp manifold for the tranny...and a tranny cooler that b&m makes for -an fittings...and you can see the braided lines coming from under the motor that go to the trans and trans cooler,,,,

I agree it is more expensive... but thought I might be nice to match some of the other lines, plus it allows your to move these lines out of the way easily. I am wondering why you can't just make your own lines and not buy an expensive kit.

The ONLY thing I might point out is besure to use the right ID size.  If it'd to small or too large, it might cause pump problems.
Tactransman might have some input about the flow problems vs pump volume.

I should just be able to make sure the ID is the same size as the stock tubing, no?
