I can tell you that isn't the correct vacuum advance for that distributor. That's a CAS (Cleaner Air System) electric vacuum advance/retard from a 70/71 model with the wires cut off and the plastic cover removed. The tag does show as being from a 71, but I wasn't aware of any dual point distributors being made after the 60's. The only distributors I've seen with that vacuum advance had the aluminum single point distributor body. Maybe someone transferred the tag? I can provide the specs for the distributor, but I'm not sure if that is what you were looking for or just the application.

When I googled it, I found the listing too. Unless you are looking for a dual point for some reason, I wouldn't buy one  :2cents:

Oddly the best engines never had electronic ign , 72 was the first year for electronic as an option or at least on HP engines before that the best was a dual point , so the Hemi & 440+6 never had electronic

The number sequence looks like it might be from a '70 on the vacuum advance. The numbered sequence is similar to the '70 models in the book I have but not that exact number. CP, is there a correlation between the vacuum can number and the distributor number? i.e. if the distributor was numbered 2558410, would the vacuum can be numbered 10 digits off like 2558420? Not sure of how (or if) chrysler did that.

These can be converted to electronic ignition if need be. Then you can have the stock look and the electronic ign at the same time. Pertronix has a kit to convert I believe. Thats what I was planning to do with mine...if I can find one for a reasonable price.

I was the person who was going to buy that distributor.
He advertised it as a 440 or hemi distributor.
When I looked up the number I told him it was a 71 dist for a 440,and the vacuum advance was off something else.
