    How ot does your car run?  I'm curious to know as I just installed new gauges in my car and I never had a number readout of my temp, just hot or cold.  I've noticed mines been running about 200-205...sometimes it gets close to 210, but not too often.  Is that temp ok?  :dunno:  I've got a 360 in my car with stock radiator and fan.  The heater core has been bypassed as well.

    What's everyone else's running?

    My 340's run 190-195* tops with 180* thermostat and the A/C on and in traffic. If on the road, they stay right where the thermostat opens 180-185*. Stock cooling system with clutch fan. If the cooling system is working properly it should not run above 200* for the most part. Is yours running over 200* in traffic or on the road?

    Seems about 205-210 in traffic and 195ish running on the road.

    180. All day. You may have a 195 t-stat in there Bob. Usually just starts opening around that temp. I run a 180 stat in my car with my helicopter electric fan lol.

     :iagree:  You may want to put a 180* stat in there for the summer if you are worried about the 210*.  If you have a 195 in there it would be good for winter.

    Well i have a beecool rad and dual electric fans and my car runs 185-195 on the road and if in traffice for a bit goes up to 210-215 but i have a 195 thermostat and fans come on at 195.The idiot lite in the old dashes come on at 230 i asked a friend who works at a chrysler dealership since 1966 and he said as long as your undr 225 your ok.

    I agree , under 220 you are good , 205 in traffic is no issue at all

    I got a 192 or 193 stat in mine with the rallye dash and everything new like radiator 3 row, thermal fan, water pump, and my gauge reads 1/3 the way up idling or driving. Once it's warm, it just stays there. I've let it idle a few times for 20 minutes, held it over 2000 rpms for 20 mins to break in the cam, and have drove it only 5 miles since new, but it doesn't show any signs of overheating. This is with a 22" radiator and a 440-6. I do have my timing and jetting set pretty close.  Air, fuel, and timing will cause havok on a cooling sytem temp if not within range :2thumbs:

    You have a 22" radiator with a 440-6?   :22yikes:

      I would have gone with a 26", but I'm glad it's working for you.  :thumbsup:

    My car came with a 22" radiator. And since it was a non a/c stick car I wanted to leave it the way it was. The radiator in it was actually for a 383 4 speed 1970. But I do feel lucky having no issues. I did clean the block good under the freeze plugs and as I said, it helps when you put everything in fresh and new.

    7 blade thermoclutch fan +
    180° thermostat =
    190° - 195° degrees.
