I had a really hard time believing that Cameras weren't going to be allowed this year at SEMA with all the celebrities, new cars, models, etc. So I e-mailed SEMA and asked if Cameras were going to be prohibited this year. Here is their reply:
Camera's are allowed and pictures can be taken with the exhibitors approval.

That is where new products are more hard part related and not accessories are at the same week in Vegas.
