What do you have in your ebody?
« on: September 28, 2007 - 12:26:12 PM »
I have an aftermarket ford POS radio that doesnt work in my car.  What does your car have in it?  Stock, aftermarket, period correct?

I'm the first to post in this section!   :woo:

I've got an old, really old Eclipse pull out in my car....I'd like to get a newer one soon, but it will do for now.  :2thumbs:

2 Pioneer 6x9's in the rear and 2 cheapo 5 & 1/4's in front kick panels.  No amps yet, but plan to install 1 300w amp for front speakers and 1 1000w amp for rear speakers & 2 12" subs.  Weapon of choice?  Percision Power Amps, Percision Power Subs (Pro series) and Boston Acoustics speakers.   :2thumbs:

In the dash- factory AM radio, I think it works...  :dunno:

Under the dash- '70's Pioneer Super Tuner AM/FM 8-Track, period correct, installed by original owner. ( I just picked up a cool "alligator skin" case with 21 8-tracks for FREEEEE from craigslist.org.    )

To be put in glovebox or under seat- Blaupunkt AM/FM Casette deck, period correct for late 70's/early 80's (I got 2 big crates full of stuff from craigslist.org, 2 Blaupunkt head units, big amps, ADS speakers, etc.... for FREEEEE!!!!)  For the old Van Halen cassette tapes...  :grinyes:

One of these days I'll catch up to technology....  ::)

Newer 6x9's out back with Jensen Triaxial speaker covers.  4" rounds up front.  Will try to make center speaker in dash only for AM radio or add an a-b-c swtich so all radios will work with existing speakers.... one day....  ::)

I'll keep perusing craigslist.org for free NOS Challenger parts!  :roflsmiley:  ::)  :screwy:

Nothing now but when I do a system it will be a surround sound system to play dvd-cds or whatever format is tops at the time. Right now only Alpine offers a surround sound processing amp for car audio but by the time I can afford a system I am sure there will be more manufacturers. For the time being I have a new Eclipse 8053 deck, new JL audio 3 way component system and a couple of amps and a sub to put in there

Alpine deck mp3/cd player
5 1/4" (kickpanel) and 6x9 (rear deck) Polk Audio speakers.

Sounds pretty good, id like just a small 8" woofer or something in the back for a more rounded out sound. Oh and i put some bass frequency blockers for the front speakers to help them run up a little higher.  :bigshades:

sorry for the crummy pic, my camera is pretty bad in low light

AM/FM/CD/MP3 player in the dash. 600 Watt amp in the trunk driving 2 6X9's in the rear. The 6x9's are 4-ways, and thank goodness they can take the power.  :bananasmi

I have an old thumbwheeler in the Beast.  Don't think it is even hooked up.  No speakers either.  Don't matter, couldn't hear it over the sound of the engine anyway......  The Beast engine cackling down the road is my tunes....      :ylsuper:

Nothing fancy in Lucy. 2 x 460watt Pioneer 6x9 rear speakers & the 3 dash speakers (new modern). Pioneer head unit, Pioneer 6 CD stacker in the trunk in a custom bracket which holds that & the amp securely, no rattles.

Madeline will have a very basic set up. 2 x 6x9" speakers, no amp, no subs, no radio & no aerial. With a 540 Hemi + electric cutouts & no sound deadener, music isn't on the top of my list. ;) Less weight, the better. A drivers car.

Dual 3 inch with series 40's...I would need a really loud stereo to hear anything over the blower whine and exhaust.
