Alpine CDA-9835 CDR/CD/MP3 player with CHA-S634 CD changer. Also have Infinity Reference series 6x9's out back and I cnt remember what I put in the  3speaker dash. I bought an Alpine amp some time back but decided to go with the Infinity Basslink T powered sub instead. Hope I can get it to fit.

Thanks - I did them myself. They were pretty easy to do actually. They look good with the polished bezel I think; looks similar to late model Charger instrument panel.   :icon16:

The original owner order the car with a AM FM thumb   (wich is missing now :( ) I was planning to buy one  :screwy: but they go on EBay for over $900 :scared: so I install a Pioneer on the glove compartment and I purchase an original AM for the dash ..the 340 and the exaust are the greates sound :burnout: but sometimes I like to hear my favorite  ZZTop  CD "Eliminator :cooldancing:

alpine CD/AM/FM/XM/MP3/WAV player with green lighting so it matches the dash lights   It has a 20ampere internal amplifier

one mp3-cd is worth about 12 CDs so a changer is just a waste of cable and space.

I kept it simple (for the first time)   I just have a pair of Infinity Reference 3way in the back.  The factory 3way system up front is still in place but not connected.

Some day when I get around to it, from previous cars that I have owned and had competition systems in,  I have a pair of JL Audio free air 8's for the rear deck and some older MBQuart mids and Titanium tweeters for the front and couple of oldschool HiFonics amps laying around gathering dust.  I have already run the 1/0 battery cable to the trunk   :bigshades:

I don't even have a Radio/Head unit, but I made this box to fit as tight as possible in the trunk.  Has 2-10 Sony X-Plode Speakers I got off a buddy cheap$$$.  Should be able to hear it a little over the exhaust.  The speakers point up through the 6x9 holes.

JVC Deck / MP3
Pyle 5 1/4's up front in kickpanels
Pyle 6X9's in the rear

The 3" exhaust and Flowmaster Super 40 mufflers kill the sound outside the car! I can hear the music in the car but outside the car when Idleing I cant hear the music at all!!!

The MP3 players are the way to go today... can hold about 200 songs so why have a 6 disc changer... :2cents:

Hey Tom, I don't know much about car audio, just the basics, but what's the thing on the left?  A Flux Capacitor?  :clueless:  Thanks!

lol its a .5 farad capacitor. It stores energy for times when the system does not have the power to continue on at full strength like a drum solo where lots of power is being used up by the subs. Some people swear by them, some people think of them as useless. I dont really swear by them but in my experience they help and I have a 5 farad cap in my neon yeah it is overkill for one 12w7 but I got it cheap.

I swear, does that count?   :smilielol:

Actually that's a GREAT idea.  :2thumbs: Sometimes at at stop light with the lights on, I'll hear the amp going to the rear speakers die out, while my single speaker up front that isn't connected to my big amp, will continue on.

Your problem is where the controversy over the usefulness of capacitors starts. I have a 180 amp alternator in my neon, The big three have been upgraded also. Most people think they can get a cap and it will solve the problems you describe. The problem is at idle your alternator is not producing the power that the system requires and it simply shuts down till it has more power. The cap is a bandaid for that imo. The best thing to do is figure out how many amps you need. 1000 watts of power generally needs 100 amps to power it. I am talking real watts here though, not the 500 watt amp someone gets from Walmart that only puts out 150. The bad thing is unless you find a good deal, getting a high powered alternator can get spendy really fast. I got one that had been redone for fairly cheap from someone moving up the food chain so to speak.

I have a factory AM/FM 8-track, 3 speaker dash, and 2 6x9's on the rear deck.
It sounds ok for vintage audio equipment, while I'm parked.  While driving you can't hear anything but
the sound of the motor, and that is music to my ears!

  Point taken.

I upgraded from the stock 50-60 amp alternator to an 80 amp. The problem is mostly gone, but does rear it's ugly head once in a while. I can live with it. If I go any bigger with the alernator, then I need bigger wires too. Can you sense I'm someone not looking to make more work?     :lol2:
