I know all my pics are probably outdated. One of the things I hate are the pics that go MIA. I guess if I would get to work on my car maybe I could keep my thread current lol.

I know what you mean it took four hours to load and post the first 20 pages :faint:
Here is a slide show of what I have loaded to Photobucket so far.

Hi
I've spent the last few days working on the engine compartment. Shortened spark plug wiring, cleaning ECT. I thought when I was deciding on how I wanted it to look during the build I would go away from what I normally do as in OEM. Now I find myself wishing I had gone with a more stock look. The engine seems cluttered to me.
In these pictures some things obvious are not done yet like wiring loom and such. So my question is what would YOU do to make it look better, be as critical as you like I'm looking for feed back on this.
Some Ideas are lose the fiberglass air cleaner, radiator to black.
I know it's my car do what I want, but I would like an overall opinion if maybe I'm just being to hard on it. :dunno:
Thanks
Dave

I dont like the red ignition parts in there... black radiator would look sweet too, but other than that, I dont think it gets any better than this     :clapping:

Hey Dave,Not sure if you need that VR with an MSD box. Loom will help. The red stuff does stand out too much.I have the same problem with some AN fittings I'm not happy with. The black ign. wires disappear in there. They call my chrome alt. the "easter egg"  :smilielol:    Black ign. cap maybe. Got a black air cleaner you could try out? Somethin' about havin' too much goin' on in there with the colors.   Personally I'm really tired of the normal Mopar stuff.   6 pacs,Rallye wheels,Ect...   After 30 yrs. it just gets so boring.  :dunno:   But when i see one...   I always freak out just the same. :screwy:

Hi Dave,

I seem to agree with the other guys here, if you are looking for something that is a little more OEM then you may be able to achieve a lot with color.
May even think about painting the heads and intake in engine color perhaps ? and that distributor really stands out, nearly out of the hood it is that long, i know it need to be long to clear the Hemi heads, so i do not know what other choice you would consider doing with that.
Deffinetely paint the radiator Black, use a heat proof Black, of course you already would know that. And i actually liked the lid that had the decal on it too :2thumbs:

If i think of any more things i will chime in.

Well thanks to everyone that responded.
I think I'll paint the rad and continue with some small details and drive it a year or two. Then pull it and paint the engine when the aluminum starts to discolor. Also go with black accessorys and brackets.
Thanks again
Dave

One of the improvements I wanted to do is replace the hood. I could not get all the pitting out of the underside and never was real happy with it. I purchased a repop hood.Today we installed the decal. Tomorrow I will install the molding and maybe get it on the car,
Here is the link for the decal.

Remoting the battery always seems to clear so much clutter.

I've been tinkering with some stuff. The carb linkage is one that has me going around in circles. In another post I see different carb spring linkage/mount,mine has no provision for the center mount.I have it mounted like this for now but I want to get a better setup to drive it. Has anyone run into this? And how did you correct it?
