Spent yesterday test fitting the sunroof box and adding the drain holes.
Today did the scarey part and cut the material away for the finish cut in the roof panel.
The roof pealed away so I think we maybe able to save the top on it and just use the extra piece I bought from Legendary.
Still a ways to go to be sure but so far so good.

Do you plan to epoxy glue the inner sunroof frame into place?

The plan as of now is to use structural adhesive to bond the understructure to the roof panel and use tack welds in the corners . Rescrew the mount braces.
Originally the box was spot welded to the roof panel.
and screwed at the mounting braces.
I feel we need to keep the heat down or warp the roof panel with mig welds.

Yeah, I meant something like that.
I think it should work OK , but I would prefer to weld the whole outside.
We are trying to save the top that is on it now, so welding it all would likely damage top material.
If on the other hand we can't work the top edges correctly I will remove the whole top and weld it. Then install a new top.
I already purchased one just in case we fail.
If we get it  I will resell the top.

Next step will be putting the box in for the final time. Running the drain hoses, then working the top material.
Merry Christmas

We put our heads together and came up with.
Peeled top back some and pushed in a piece of metal to protect the top material. Drilled a hole large enough to allow the electric shears to cut the straight edges, then die grinded the corners.
 Worked great!
Scott who works for me and Steve a good friend are pictured.
They would only let me man the camera!
They said my patience level working on my own car was not good and they were going to cut it.
