    Here is an update, I installed the top. :faint: It was VERY nerve racking as this was my first one I have ever done myself.
    I have trimmed out the windows and will post the final shots soon.

    It looks good but too bad that you couldn't get the wider pattern to seam it in the correct area.

    Hey Rob,

    Gator grain was only available in this seam width on both 'Cuda & Challenger and not wide like a boar grain SE or Formal vinyl roof...... A little bit of trivia their for everyone :2thumbs:


    And i must say :wow: i really love the look and it will look sharp with the window in place. :drool:

      Why does everyone love the wide seams. My narrow seams on my gator look alot better than the ugly lump running down the side.

    Ken,  Thanks for the info. I'm not a vinyl roof guy.

    Who said anyone liked it? I just know what a normal, (non gator grain) seam should look like on a '70.
    We found out later that vinyl tops were really for; to save paint, and hide bad body work around sunroofs and SE rear windows.

    This was the first one I have ever done myself. Usually I have someone come in and do the tops and headliners.
    This time I had two guy's that would do it for me. One would not give me a price and the other set a date but didn't show.
    So knowing that this was an expensive top and I had never done one it seemed like a great time to learn :dupe: :faint:
    Here are some pictures while I was putting it on.
    DISCLAIMER: This is by no means a guide to doing it right, just how I did it. :smilielol:
