How much Slick will fit ?
« on: September 30, 2007 - 04:26:37 PM »
Hi guys, I searched the "tire, wheel & susp" thread, couldn't find any definite answer.

So here goes.
I need to get as much Slick as possible under my 71 Challenger, WITHOUT resorting to cutting the car up. Does anybody know, or, can rec. what I can safely buy.
Does a 10 inch rim fit with a 5 inch backspacing

71 Challenger
Stock 8 3/4 width diff.

mike.

This may sound stupid, but whats a 3/4 relo kit ?  How much tire does that allow ?

thx, mike

the relocation kit is offset front & rear leaf mounts to move the spring inward , without doing this I would recommend a 11" wide tire on an 8.5 rim with 4" back set

Challenger - You`ll wish You Hadn`t

Thanks again guys.
I found them on the Mopar Performance site. It lists the "offset rear spring front hangars", and the "offset rear shackles".
I assume I need both to move the springs in ?

How much power can they hold ? Same as the stock stuff ? I was thinking of using/buying these offset things to get more tire under it, and installing a set of Caltrac bars ?

Does that seem like a practical approach for 11's ?

You will have to move the perches on the rear axel to, - or find a B-Body rear... :working:

I used a b body rear and the perches are already where they need to be...you dont need caltracs using SuperStock springs...

the 3/4 kit will handle anything you throw at it..
