I've heard that Keisler will not sell their bellhousing by itself.  Is that true?  If so, how would this be installed?

Rob, not sure if this will help but I purchased my kit then later on upgraded and purchased a Lakewood scatter-shield for safety and that was without a kit, just a stand alone item. Though, me being a previous customer that had an order pending may have had something to do with it? Still, 1 phone call and you'll know. Great price on the kit.

The good price is what I was thinking too.  The location is just over an hour away from me.  It's just that it's something that I don't need at the moment but want it anyway.

Classic5speed will sell their bellhousing seperate, or pick a lakewood or mcleod scattershield.
A really good price compared to what Keisler wants for the new stuff. I'm still in the sheetmetal buying phase or I would be buying it. Still thinking about it though.

It's a great price IMO but it's also an older unit now. I've heard some guys don't like the high gearing, meaning even with high gears like 3.23s 1st gear is still miles too short and in their words "a waste". Then you have the other end in 5th where you'e doing 65mph & you're cruising at an idle like 1,700rpm. Still, for that money you can't complain!

TKO-500 (0.68) with 28" Tires:

3.23s = 3.98 1st gear ratio.
65mph in 5th is 1700rpm.
A lowly 2,300rpm is 83mph.

I am definitely interested in the kit but I dont even have a pedal assembly, I would need everything to convert it over to manual shift from the slapstick setup  :eek4:

BB71 - He's advertising it as the full conversion kit my friend, that means pedals & hump!  :2thumbs:

This hasn't been asked yet but Robb was close, does it come with a bell housing, if so, what was this trans set up for? Small or Big block and if you can remember what rear gears did Keisler create it for, I know when you order they ask for rear gear ratios, not sure if it actually changes the trans but someone may want to know prior.

At this price I'm almost keen to buy it and force Dad into putting it in his 'Cuda.  :icon16:

I don't think it's advertised as a complete kit.  I don't see pedals listed.

That TKO-1 is a trans that my friend blew 4 of, in his little 428 cobra clone.

It looks like the 4 speed to 5 speed kit with the hump, not the complete auto to 4 speed kit. No pedals, no clutch, pressure plate, bellhousing, flywheel, clutch linkage, etc. Still a deal since Keisler asks $3295 for the kit. Their complete auto to 5 speed kit is $5432. Sounds like he is buying the stronger TK600 trans kit so you are just getting the basic TK500 kit and the duplicate parts.

I pretty much figured it was not a complete kit but was hoping. NZ its all yours bud, I cannot really do it right now anyway due to being off work 4 weeks now and probably another for good measure. My wife would kill me if I bought any more parts while sitting on my arse with aching ribs

If it's not the full kit, what am I missing? Keislers kits come with pedals, pads and the hump. I just figured he didn't write out the entire list.  Unless I read into the "All Hardware for Installation" wrong. Guess we'll have to wait for Mr Seller to see. Either way, good price IMO, well, put it this way, you wouldn't get laughed at, at a swap meet with a buy like this and we all know the swap meet bargains.  :grinyes:

C'mon NZ, I would figure you to know all the ins and outs of these kits.
Two keisler kits available. How does the old gearing compare to the new gearing?
