C'mon NZ, I would figure you to know all the ins and outs of these kits.
Two keisler kits available. How does the old gearing compare to the new gearing?

The only thing I can't see is the tunnel hump, mine was automatically in the kit when I told them what I was doing, so I guess I was wrong. Still, 4-speed humps are a dime a dozen and not worth much to purchase.

As for gearing, here is the chart I did to figure out what I wanted for mine:

TKO-500 (0.68) Rated @ 550hp

3.23s = 3.98 1st gear ratio.
65mph in 5th is 1700rpm.
A lowly 2,300rpm is 83mph.

TKO-600 (0.64) Rated @ 650hp

3.23s = 3.49 1st gear ratio.
65mph in 5th is an idle like 1,600rpms!?!
A lowly 2,300rpm would be cruising at 93mph.

TKO-600 (0.82) Rated @ 650hp

3.23s = 3.49 1st gear ratio
65mph in 5th = 2,100rpm Much better.
2,300rpms is better throttle responsive 72mph.

NZ - Why are you running 3.23's - Optimize man.  Switch to 3.73's and have a ball - with the TKO 1 or 500 the 1st gear is extremely fast (4.60 to 1 first gear) and then 2200 rpm at 70 mph.  The transmission is perfect for a small block and will provide the needed torgue multiplication to get the car moving.  Yes, 3.27 is steep - but it moooooooves you.

For those of you that have PM'd me and inquired on the board.  The kit is the basic kit for 4 to 5 speed conversions.  The sheet metal that is listed is the sheet metal that Keisler sends with their kit.  This kit does not come with pedals.

For those that have asked -
Pedals assemblies are available from P&G Classics for $195.00
Tunnel humps are from Brewers for $150.00
Reproduction Hurst Pistol Grip - Summit
Shifter Boot and Bezel - P&G Classics - $80.00
Bell Housings - Classic Mopar 5 Speed sells them outside their kits.
Roller Pilot Bearing - Classic Mopar 5 Speed sells them with the Bell Housing purchase
Clutch, Pressure Plate and Throw Out Bearing are your specific taste and vendor - Remember 1 1/8-26 spline input shaft.

Please check the listing again - I listed the throw out bearing as included, in reality it's the roller pilot bearing.  Sorry for the confusion.

Tony

Who said I am or was? ;) It's a comparison chart. I'm running 3.55 gears which combine to a final drive ratio of 3.84:1 which for my engine, is heaps. Optimise I hear you say? Launching & acceleration is good. Traction my friend, is better.  :smokin:

Tony, I thought you were Classic Chevy (er, I mean Mopar) 5 Speed. Why wouldn't you just say so?
Do you get your pedals and tranny humps from the vendors you listed?
It's kinda funny, Classic Chevy 5 Speed is selling Kiesler tranny kits. Heard you guys bought them too, beats research and developement.
