08/09 challenger
« on: October 04, 2007 - 12:18:26 PM »
I got to go for a ride in one of the new 2008/2009 Challenger R/T's yesterday. It was a 5.7L HEMI with a 6 speed. It was all covered up with the bras & camo of course. Its a S-0 (still prototype but most of all of the production clues were there). Can't share any pics. Alls I can say is it halls a$$ & looks even better than the concept car. For all of you wondering it does not have the shortened nose, actually a 70 style grile (no cross hairs Dodge Ram grill like everything else). 70 tail lights with center reverse light & typical E-body dash cluster. It was awesome & I am now convinced I will somehow figure a way to buy one when it hits the streets.

Found these couple spy pics showing the grill fairly well.  Also found a video.  Gets a little rubber in it too!

I would love to get one. We will have to see how it's marketed first.

I want a new Challenger but will have to wait and see if I can even afford one as the prices may be way out of my reach. I can't wait to drive one of the new ones just to see how it handles and runs with the Hemi!

That's definitely a 70 looking grill.  I wonder what made them change it from the 71 on the concept.

I talked to one of the Chrysler stylist at Mopardave's show last weekend and could not get him to confirm whether there will be a B-Pillar or not.

Yes it has the B-pillar, from the outside you can't really tell with the blackout surrounding around the rear quarter window & the dark tinted glass. From the inside it is a very tiny rear side window that's for sure.
