I got fiberglass fenders in my 72 chally.  interested in more fiberglass info. i know i've seen fiberglass decklids discussed on this site.  do they make fiberglass doors, front rear valances, etc? what exactly is avail out there?

also, what are the positives and negatives to fiberglass vs. metal? i'd think fiberglass positives are weight and no rust and negatives are warping???

Ghetto,

I have a Fibergalss hood on my cuda the company Igot it from was called Glasstek I'm sure a google search will turn them up. But the came out of the box and went into the spray booth (Of course it was cleaned and scuffed) but the quality was EXCELLENT IMO. If I were going to go with fenders and a deck lid they would be the people to call. Also if you look on the forum there is a Elasotmeric bumper from AAR fiberglass that also looks pretty good. As for warping my hood has been on the car for going on 9 years and that is with hood springs (from glasstek) and there is no warping at all.
Maybe others have had good luck with other vendors if so I would take the advice and shop around a little ;)

Here is a company which sell's all of the parts that you need.  I've heard that they have good Quality parts and cheaper than Glasstek.  I'm planning to order a pair of fender and headlight buckets for my 74 cuda.

A friend of mine bought Fiberglass Doors, hood and decklid for his 73 cuda race car and told me he spent hours fixing the stuff. The prices are cheaper......But you get what you pay for in this instance. There is another thread about the fiberglass decklid that had a link to US body source? I think ??? there suff looked pretty good and  reasonable. I'm actually thinking of getting another hood myself, I would like to get either a six pack or 68 super stock hemi scoop haven't decided.

Checked out US Body for fenders, for a 74 cuda.  The describtion say's you need a pin on hood to use with there fender's ???  Why would the pin on hood differ from a bolt on hood,  the hinges are on the inner fender.  The body line should be the same too.  I'm confused on this issue.

When is somebody going to produce some Steel Front FENDERS???

i found the ad..it's auto body specialties

70-71 challenger front fenders made in heavy duty restoration grade fiberglass.the fenders comes with early style side marker light hole, inner fender braces, and the headlight mounting bucket flange..the mounting holes need to be drilled..auto body said the molds for the fenders were made off NOS original challenger fenders, so there dead on accurate copies.

and the side markerhole can be altered into a 72-74 style

special order item  delivery will take 6-8 weeks

Fiberglass fenders! Anyone with experience with these.

Unlimited products $160.00 (chall. 70 - 74)

Autobody specialty $295.00 (chall. 70 - 71)

Are either of these OK for a street car. I'm not building a show car, (74 318 challenger) and the existing steel ones need alot of work.

The used fenders on Ebay seem to be running near $400, and DVAP wants $425.00.

i personally havent used any glass parts but i have a friend that used glass front fenders on his 67 cuda and he said that they took a lot of work to get them to fit and they still dont fit very well. he said that he would have rather fixed the originals or bought some steel ones in better shape. that just made me decide that glass isnt for me, IMO

Swap meet bait so I don't know the manufacture

I reinforced the back of them with some stock metal
bracing in the rain gutter area

Made a big difference so they look solid and you can
lean on them at the track and look cool 8)

Don't sit on them though :o
