I just bought a pair of fenders and light buckets from up22 for my 73 cuda.  The fenders were straight and fit fairly well with a little sanding.  It will take awhile to get them to fit nearly perfect.  You will have to have some filler to smooth the injection spots, but for the most part will look good with light sanding.  If you have a heat gun you can warm up the fiberglass and form it to your fit.  If I had a choice I would have prefered to order them from US Body, just because they seemed to be a heavier gauge, and the light bucket is made into the fender.  The only reason I didn't was they said their molds were down and wouldn't be up until spring/summer.

You have to glass them in after you have them marked for postion.  Here are is a pic of when I was fitting my fenders on, I don't have them permanently attached yet.  Y.1 is suppose to be making a metal fender for a 70 or 71 cuda, that will be out this year, I think they said sometime during the summer.

Here is a set of finished glass fenders and hood. The front header panel is steel because of all the bracing and stuff. Had to set in the rain gutters from a set of steel fenders and same for the headlight buckets. These came from Unlimited. Would have rather paid more for a better set. Took alot of work at finishing the edges along the doors and window pillars. Not sure if it was worth it. I think I would research it more before buying a set from Unlimited.

Grandcoupe, is that a one piece glass front end or are they all separate?  It looks real good.

Sorry about the time it took to reply. I loose some of these posts and can't seem to find a way to keep them organized. Anyway, the nose is seperate panels. Like I said, the header is made of steel. The rest is glass.

Dunno how recent this thread is, but as I have mentioned a few times, my entire '72 Chally is fibreglass.  fenders, doors, quarters, lift-off deck and hood.  The only problems I have found so far is that A) the doors are sagging.  I will need to have them realigned properly, but this should be an easy fix.  and B) the lift-off hood does not sit flush with the fenders so I have to 'build up' the inner fenders to accomodate this.  Also, the hood bows SEVERELY at high speeds, and once even popped the hood pin out of the fibreglass inner fender.  I have since rigged up a sub-frame for the hood, but this is still an issue.

I recommend that if you go all glass, make sure the hood has hinges and latches to the cowl to avoid this severe bowing.  Other than that, I think the glass makes quite a weight difference.

I used fender from unlimited on my 71 barracuda.  It took a little bit of doing to get them on.  I didn't think of it when I ordered them, but I wish I had gotten the headlight buckets with them.  I cut out my old buckets, and the fit behind the curled edge of the glass fenders nicely.  The bad part is, there is a flange inside the area where the door hinges are that bolts to the fender.  The new fender had no provision for this, and when they were sitting on the car, they kind of sagged.  My solution was to weld a small bolt to a peice of steel, and glass it onto the bottom of the fender.  I then found a rubber grommet to fit around the bolt and trimmed down on my bandsaw until I got the correct height.  I just tightened a nut onto the bolt with some large diameter washers.  It worked perfect.  You need to put the Platic splashe sheilds back in also or the fender will sag.  They arent' the highest quality peices, but they work.  And I jsut culdn't justify spending $750 a peice for steel ones fro Stephens performance.  Let me know if you want pictures of the finised products.

I'm not quite sure how to post pictures, but I'll give it a try.  This is my pride and joy just after paint, and half way through reassembly.  Everything (and I mean everything) was done by me with some primative tools and alot of long nights.  Notice the absence of the side markers in the fenders.  haven't figures out how to create the recessed flange on the new plastic fenders.

Really nice looking car you have, RNSykes!  Did you do the paint yourself also?  Nice job!

Yeah, I painted it my self against my best judgement.  I actually painted it right where it is sitting in that picture.  It seriously needs to be blocked and polished, but it took all of my nerve just to attempt the paint job.  I don't know the first thing about color sanding/polishing.  Any tips would be greatly appreciated.
