To Occupy My Time While Waiting For My Car To Be Rebuilt...
« on: October 04, 2007 - 09:06:51 PM »
...I put on my magical HemiHat and decided to begin the pressure wash, scrape/palm sand, caulk, primer, and paint the wood and cement around my house including the sidewalk and back pad where a garage will house my Challenger when finished. The pressure washing occupied this past saturday (4 1/2 hrs), sunday (8 hrs), monday (8 hrs), and tuesday afternoon (3 hrs). Props to longtime neighbors who own 8 ft. stepladders and 2500 psi pressure washers :ylsuper: Of course by the time I fell asleep sunday, I was sore from my pinky to my little toe - "but it was a good sore" :faint:  The last two afternoons after work have been spent edging before one last mow prior to the leaves dropping. Then on to the sanding/scraping, caulking, priming, and painting my way around my shack. A small section at a time; a steady pace will see this project to it's conclusion and keep me from going nutso waiting for my Challenger to progress. After the paint will come stripping and pinting the metal of my front and rear porch areas and a fresh coat of concrete paint. There...that ought to keep me out of trouble for a while :icon16:
Here's a few pics. As ya's can tell, this place needed a good scrubbing :horse: My neighbors are probably thinking "...'bout freakin' time" :swear:

...the housework I would imagine. Wax on wax off :smilielol:

The yardwork is done for now; the edging as well. Small problem, though. Too much working while getting wet or maybe all the pressure washed mold, dust, bugs, etc. but thursday night had the chills/sweats mixed with a sinus cold and friday left work after two hours. Fatigue and couldn't concentrate very well. As I mainly troubleshoot pc issues, this was not a good combo. Over the weekend no further chill episodes but last night experienced dry throat. I've been steady on the orange juice and feel better this morning although sinus drainage continues. I think I missed the signpost saying i've grown up and am no longer indestructible :dunno: :bricks1: I always give meself 24hrs when i get under the weather so we'll see how I feel tomorrow morning. Here's a few more pics

That'll definitely keep you busy for a while.  As for your garage, you might want to turn the pressure down some on that pressure washer.

Note to self:
When pressure washing, sand blasting, or otherwise dislodging foreign particles get a mask/nose filter before starting :thinkerg:  :bricks1: :banghead: :eek4:

Yesterday my throat was irritated to the point of being uncomfortable when swallowing along with body aches  :faint::eek7:

Today body aches gone, throat much better, and I can breathe again :cooldancing: Glad I wore my Mad Max safety goggles ::) ::)

Not exactly how I wanted to take my mind of the rebuild of my Challenger :misbehaving:
