I finally took the time to check out this thread. WOW! What a variety is listed here! I listen to most of what's been listed, and have always been a rock junkie. In addition to the cool rock, hard rock, metal, punk, old country, hip-hop, rap, jazz, and blues, I also will pop in some good classical music. Beethoven, some Bach, and a couple of the Strausses are my favorites, along with Tchaikovsky. For driving, I like Monster Magnet, Kid Rock, Deep Purple, Kenny Wayne Sheppard, and Ministry. I will also listen to a few titles from the Psychopathic label, like ICP, Dark Lotus, and a new one that my daughter turned me onto, that is a lot like a cross between ICP and Lynyrd Skynyrd. One guitar virtuoso I didn't see on the lists, is Yngwie Malmsteen. He is a guitar god, and I have yet to hear something from him that I don't like. I never liked 8-track tapes, as they seemed to cut out in the middle of songs too often (every Led Zeppelin title I ever heard on 8-track comes to mind), but I still have vinyl, cassettes, and now I have CDs, as well. I don't know if I'm ready for the 21st century stuff yet, so no i-pod.
