Ever have a tune pop into your head from apparently nowhere. Happened to me today, got home for lunch & started trying to remember the lyrics...Ask the wife who's song it was she says Connie Francis..mmm I don't think so but it turns out she was right, sort of. Googled the lyrics & turns out this has been recorded many times, my version from 1970 below.  :smokin: :smokin: :smokin:

Who knew?  :dunno:

Fats Domino - 1955
Smiley Lewis - 1955
Connie Francis - 1959
Dave Edmunds - 1970
Shakin' Stevens - 1970
Kingfish - 1976
Andy Fairweather-Low - 1976
Crazy Cavan & The Rhythm Rockers - 1979
Also recorded by: Clifton Chenier; Billy Swan; Gale Storm; Van Broussard; Orion; Alvin Lee; Curley Bridges;
Mac Wiseman.

Wade,

I have Dave Edmond's version on my I-Pod. Now who the h@ll is Shakin' Stevens?   :clueless:   :1zhelp:

Brett,

I have that same song on a 45 done by Frigid Pink. It was from the late sixties, and sounds pretty close to that version by the Animals.

Shouldn't Frigid Pink be a Mopar color?

Its amazing how many times that song has been covered. I think it goes way back to the '20's or even teens. I have always heard the Animals version the most. I know Dylan did it too. I dont know that I have ever heard the Frigid Pink version. Gonna hafta look it up if I can and check it out.

For some reason my heart is hurting right now and I find myself missing lost friends and love ones. They never leave my mind

I always loved this song. It brings back a lot a great memories driving around in my first Challenger. Especially on a date!  :naughty:

It's great to see that he is still performing! :2thumbs:  The song doesn't start until 1:25 into the video.

What happens before that... Well the musicians here will just  :roflsmiley:

The thing about the album is you can really hear the pain that was in Hank Williams's life through the lyrics. His struggles with alcohol and his turn towards God before his death are really evident. Matt Johnson did a great job on the whole album.
