I have been waiting for their new cd, Above Hell Beyond Heaven for a month now. I ordered it from Asia somewhere and it never showed so I just ordered it just over a week ago from Europe. I have been listening on youtube but those songs have to be either sped up or slowed down so they are not true to what the songs are. I dig all their cd's and own them all.

The Band - The Weight

I've been listening to this song for over a week, virtually non-stop.

I've never really been a big fan of cover-versions of songs - more often than not, they completely suck - but this song has been covered a few times, and whilst they're all the same - they're all different. Some of them I don't like, but there are 4 versions that I love, and I've been listening to them constantly for nearly 2 weeks - and I can't stop!

 :bigshades:

The Band - Original version
The Band - Live version from their Last Waltz DVD - Martin Scorsese directed footage of their farewell concert.
John Denver - Cover version recorded who knows when. Think it appears on one of his "best of" albums.
Jimmy Barnes with The Badloves - Australian singer Jimmy Barnes recorded a cover album years back: "Double Happiness", featuring a bunch of other artists - this was one of them, and it's bloody awesome.

You set your clocks back right?

An appropriate song for today.
