Shaun Lane seems like Satriani , fast & complicated guitar but the the music doesn't seem to flow well , the drums a base are just there as filler

Its an aquired taste like Jazz. I like it, its hendrix with the explosive energy.  What makes it amazing is it is almost totally improvised. And those guys are some of the best musicians ever. If you even know what they are doing, which I barely do!   I have seen Satch maybe a dozen times sense the Surfing with the alien record and I don't think I have seen him improvise once. Same with Steve Vai, the guy is great, but Shawn had that explosive rawness and sheer musicality. And he plays the keys just as well.  Now a guy like Allan Holdsworh whom some consider on a higher plane than us mortals... Is completely over my head. I do not get it!  I cant tell if he really is that great, or just fooling everyone!  :burnout:

Just saw Uncle Ted last Sunday. 3rd row and he rocked the place from start to finish. He even has Derek St. Holmes on tour with him so that was a cool treat.
