Flowmaster Super 40's sound great but they are too loud for my taste. I have no idea about the magna's. I did buy the Flowmaster 3" exhaust system (in anticipation of a stroker motor) so I dont know if that might make it louder or not.

i run super 40s. not quite loud enough for me, they sound good at WOT...but any other time im not too happy.

Also, i do run 3", yes...even on my 318, it'll grow up. Where i'm getting is the flowmasters I'm finding feel restrictive vs the open cutouts i have after the headers. Thats something that shouldnt be noticed on a small mill like mine  :2cents:

Guys, I had Flowmaster 40's with 3" pipe on my small block. Didn't care for the sound and it was very loud. I put on 50's with a X-pipe and 2 1/2" pipe. Much better BUT next time I my try Magnaflow's because the Flowmaster's sound to much like a 5.0 Mustang....

My dad has magnaflows on his 340 Challenger and they sound great. They have a nice little rumble during idle and really open up when revved....not to mention they are stainless steel and look amazing. I like them so much that I already have the exact same setup for my Challenger.

I have run both and I like the magnaflow a lot better. Both sound great, but the magnaflows win.

HATE FLOWMASTERS! Sounds like a wet fart escaping from a tin can. Go with Magnaflow. They have an apealing sound.

Hey Fishn, have you ever hear spintechs? I heard about them a couple of years ago from a guy who built a nice 427 Ford and he also hated Flows and some of the others but swore by Spintechs. I have not researched them but I dont see them listed anywhere.

I talked to some national engine builders this last week and the spintechs dropped serious HP on the dyno tests. I have used them on a customers vette, has a nice rumble, but seamed to be restictive. The magnaflows sound really throaty.

Flowmaster say performance....Magnaflow delivers it. There was a muffler test in a magazine a couple years back and flowmasters performed pretty bad compared to some other brands. Since then flowmaster has probably made some advancements but I still like magnaflows better. IMO they sound better and they definitely look better, the polished stainless steel just looks great

I put on the full TTI system and Dynomax is what they send in the kit. I wasn't very excited about putting them on but I figured I'd try them and then decide what to do. I think they sound great, not too loud but a nice deep rumble.
