reunited with an old E-Body friend.....pix
« on: October 08, 2007 - 10:22:38 PM »
...a few days ago a friend of mine called to remind me of an upcoming car show....I have been too busy/lazy to get a car out for any shows this year but this was an offer I couldn't refuse....I was offered the keys to a 70 Panther Pink T/A for the day....

...I actually owned the car many years ago, gave it to my daughter and she kept it a few years before selling it to the current owners...42K mile, matching numbers all correct T/A...one of the nicest cars I ever owned...

...thanx to Scott and Jody for MAKING MY DAY (it pays to have good friends) :cooldancing: :burnout:

...a large group of us met at a Walmart.....in case you have never been behind the wheel of a T/A, this is what it looks like from the drivers seat....a very happy sunburned me, first time I have driven the car in about 10 years....

Daytona, how do you keep the "hump" out of the hood where the springs constantly press against it? The hood on that T/A looks perfect, almost too flat if you know what I mean. I was thinking it might be a good idea to actually leave the springs off the hood? Either way it is an awesome looking car  :worshippy

....I have had very few Trans Am cars that the hoods were warped at all....I always kinda thought the sun was responsible to a large extent, and most of mine have spent sheltered lives ....this T/A was an old show car in the 70's.....it was called "Candy Brandywine" with all kinds of hideous custom paint and tons of chrome, but it never was hurt or rusty....still all original body panels everywhere

Very cool  I always wonder how my former Mopars have fared over the years ::) Good that your (daughter's) former T/A is being taken well care of.

Should've told your daughter that if she ever decided to get rid of it, it would have to come back to you.
