Great build!!  Looking awsome!!!  I like it all.  Where did you get the front bumper? Is it a re-pop? I'm considering one.  Mayby get an AAR logo with 392 instead of AAR ?

The bumpers are repops. I bought both the front and rear and they both fit good. They will need a little work to make them perfect but overall I am pleased. I thought about the AAR shield with 392 but think that I want something a little different. I might hire someone to help me design it or maybe I will just start a design contest on the board .  Thanks for all the comments.

Where did you end up getting the BMW seats? Ebay? or ? I didn't know if there was a particular salvage place. I was leaning towards Corbeaus but I might take a look at those.
What size of rear tires will you be able to fit with the Airbar/bag combo?

Your car is going to be great! Nice start and a very fine parts list aquired.

I looked for 6 months for the BMW seats and finally found them in CA. I must have called 100 places. You will likely start to see more of these seats as time goes by and more BMW verts end up in the junk yard. I have not measured yet to see what size tire I can get under the rear but will get to that fairly soon. Thanks for the comments.

What year of BMW did the seats come from, I want a set. How much do they run? Do you still have enuff clearance between the steering wheel and your legs. That is the problem I have seen with other seats. I hate my facory seats and am looking at the moment for anything better.

These came from a 2006 BMW 645 CI convertible. I paid $1000 for them. A couple of things that you need to know before you go down this path. 1) You will have to cut your floor pans to take out the hump. This will allow for the seats to set deeper in the car and that will give you clerance. You have a couple of choices here: the easiest is to cut the floor pan and weld flat pieces in to replace them or (as I did) cut the hum out and use another E or B body floor pan to weld in a section that follows the other ridges. This removes the hump but still allows the pan to look factory. 2) I will also have a tilt column in my car so there is some adjustment for me on that end as well.  With all that said, these seats have a ton of travel and allow for many different positions.

Thanks for the info. I will soon have a tilt wheel and I know that will help.

Bumping this thread too....this project is too nice to get buried. Any more updates? We've got a few of these nice pro-touring type projects coming along!

Hey guys,
I was able to get back to PA over Christmas and work a little on my car. Here are a couple of pics. We are just getting the last few things mocked up and then it should go to paint  I hope to have the car painted and in TN by the first of March. I am really getting excited as we are getting closer to having this completed. I will keep everyone posted.

Thanks for the bump.

It is a custom doubble pass radiator that was built by a race shop here in Memphis. It has a 16" spal fan with a custom shroud. Having one built is about the only way to get both inlet and outlet on the same side. I also had them turn the bottom outlet so that I would not have any interference with my Alter-k-tion. Let's hope it keeps me cool.
