Project...Back to Basics....1970 Challenger
« on: October 09, 2007 - 08:08:43 PM »
1970 Challenger.  Factory /6.  It is a deputy.  It is currenlty a 440/727.  8 3/4.   I have owned this thing for 15 years.  I drove it for 5 years and it has been in various states of disaray since.  When I found the dates of the power tour, and it comes through my backyard, I decided it was time to return it to the road.  It currently needs brakes, fuel system, and rust repair around some windows.

Here is the current state:

I am going to start a project thread in the projects section.  Some progress has been made!

Significant rust around rear window.  Previous owner used silicone, and created a water trap.
Some rust holes around front window, but fixable.
440 is smog engine, with cast crank.  But 440's don't grow on trees anymore, and crank, pistons and rods can all be replaced.  Cast crank should be adequate for my needs....for now....
