Shift Kit Question
« on: October 10, 2007 - 11:16:16 AM »
Hey I recently decided to put a Transgo full manual shift kit in my 727.  I need to get to the lower servo but I have no idea how to get the arm out.  I'll attach a picture of how it looks and any help on how to get the arm out or the servo out would be great.

Thanks Sam

Sam,you have to remove the snap ring holding in the servo spring and retainer CAREFULLY
Then you are going to bring the servo up against the lever as if it was going to apply the rear band.
Then you are going to have to flip out the bottom of the servo after you get it as far up in the bore against the lever.

Thanks a ton, followed your instructions and got the baby out.  I bet my shop teacher a dollar he couldn't get the snap ring off the accumulator piston or whatever and i ended up paying him.

I think i might of messed up one of the steps though which involved grinding the 1-2 governor valve down so the inner diameter is smaller.  I went a little thin on the diameter and am worried I screwed it up.  Hopefully I can get pics but if I didn't hurt anything, let me know so I can ease my anxiety

Well if you got one for a 727, let me know I can probably hit you up with PayPal if that works.  I'd rather be safe than sorry.

Alright here's the pic, bout the best I can do since I'm at school and had to borrow a friends Iphone.  I think I grounded it to far down towards the base, so I included the picture in the manual of what it is supposed to be.  Let me know if it will work, Thanks Sam

It looks like it is fine.(kind of blurry)   As long as you did not grind the big end or the small end to where the OD is different it should be fine.
