Vinyl Insert Side Moulding Restoration

I recall seeing something on this on one of the forums a while back, but I can't remember the advise.  What is the best way to remove the vinyl from the aluminum moulding in order to polish it?  Thanks! Roger B

Welllll,

Polish the vinyl or the aluminum?  The aluminum is anodized, so the only way to get that polished is to either have it restored or to wetsand the anodization off, and polish it.

The question was:  What is the best way to REMOVE the vinyl from the aluminum moulding in order to polish it?  I was referring to polishing the aluminum, although The vinyl will need buffing also.  I want to separate the two without harming either one,  I know how to polish the aluminum.  I just don't want to experiment on the the separation process if there is a known acceptable method.  Also, Eazy-Off Oven Cleaner is the way to go on removing the anodization.
