There's NO way I would be pushing triple digits in that rain though.  :scared:

The instructors worked people up over the course of the day, but no-one was pushed to drive over their head.

I couldn't put the power down in a big way entering NASCAR Turn 3, but part way in and onto the straight I was standing  on it.
I hit the brakes earlier than I would at the end of the straight, but the car was all there and didn't get out of shape.

But that didn't happen on my first lap of the day.

Once I got a handle on it, I was totally loving the speed in the wet.
But I am a confirmed speed junky  :dunno:

Our friends from Dayclona came down with two wing cars and a Viper GTS.
They had alot of fun.

No one was racing, especially in the rain.  All the passing was point-by.  This was an open track day and driving school, not a race

We considered doing time trials as well originally, but I'm not sure anyone is ready for that yet.

WHo owned the charger Daytona (or was it a superbird?) It looked awesome and it probbably went real good to.

How did the XV CHallenger do against the viper/z06 corvette i saw (if they were in the same race?)

Wish they did races in aus like that :(

I think I would love to come out next year.  Maybe I can make it down there for this.  I could persuade Moper to ride Shotgun? :smilielol:

That looks like a lot of fun!! :grinyes:  Thanks for the photos, John! :2thumbs:  I'd feel safe doing those speeds in my AWD Stealth, but I don't know how a RWD would feel in that rain. :scared:

Looked like a lot of fun. I know its off topic but does anyone make a HID kit for challengers or cudas?

I may, assuming my car is complete and all the bugs are worked out. It'd be nice to see how badly it gets stomped by the Challenger.

Looks like everyone had a blast John!

My favorite Charger and Challenger in the same place. I hope the Charger shows up again next time!

om, you know I was there "in spirit"... John had a blast. Be he can't wait fro dry conditions either...lol. I hear there is a ton of mud stuck to the bottom of his car.. :working:  I'll have another weeks PTO next year. So hopefully I'll get there. I may have another '68 Barracuda (the one you saw in the cocoon) ready for spring too. anotehr big block, but a stick, good tires, good suspension, huge brakes. I'd have no trouble riding with you or anybody. I need a new helmet anyway .

Thanks for the chance John (XV). I think by opening up a real track, you'll generate a lot more interest in the concept of "G-machine", and your cars and packages too.

Helmet, you'd need full body armor with me......LOL  Need to sort out the changing lanes by itself thing before I go on a track!
