B5 Blue or Viper Blue - PAINT SAMPLE PICS ADDED OCT 20!!!
« on: October 15, 2007 - 03:46:41 PM »
Stiil trying to decide on a blue colour for my car, was originally a 318 auto flat hood car and will be a big block, 4 spd, shaker car so originality isn't a big deal.  I wanted to go B5 blue but in every picture I've seen of B5 cars it always seems to look like a different shade, and I wasn't a fan of some of them. Also considering Viper blue as it is close to B5 but with a bit of a modern twist.  Please post up any pics you have of either colour on an ebody and if you know list the paint code and company (ie 70 B5 PPG base clear, etc)  Thanks, Tyler

2007 mazda blue is one of the best blues I've seen in ages. If it can make one of those little yuck boxes look good, imagine what it could do for a real car. Sorry no pics.

I had a 71 SS Nova that I painted medium blue metallic.  I think it was Corvette color.

My Cuda looks to be close to the Viper blue.  The PO painted it and couldn't remember where the color came from.  He thought it might be a Honda color??????  It has a small amount of metallic and pearl in it.  This color seems to be popular.  The B5 is very nice also.  The shade does varies from year to year and I think it is brighter than my Cuda's paint.  Both colors look great with black vinyl roofs IMHO.  I would go with the stock color if I had to do it again.

:2thumbs: Those are all nice. But ya need to get a hold of Nick (74Chall) and get a high def. pick of his Chally, I beleieve it is actually a Dodge truck line from a few years back. It is called something like Intense blue pearl, it is also the same color as our 72, but nick's car will give ya a better feel of it on an E-bod.  :2thumbs:  :2thumbs: BEAUTIFUL
