70 Challenger R/T Headlight Bezel Black Finish
« on: October 15, 2007 - 05:08:21 PM »
I have two sets of 70 Challenger R/T headlight bezels.  One of the four pieces is new in the Mopar box. It has smooth flat black paint on some areas and the rest is anodized aluminum.  The other three pieces are used and basically the same, except the black finish is a rough grit textured paint.  I am assuming the smooth finish on the NOS piece is correct, but find it strange the other three are all exactly alike.  Any guidance here? Thanks!  :bananasmi

My guess is someone else painted over argent silver with black on the other 3 pieces.

Did the argent silver ones have a grit finish as opposed to smooth?  :bananasmi

Yes. I would describe is as textured with a metallic finish.

I believe the black color is supposed to be Organisol black which is a texture and has metallic finish to it. I may be wrong but that is the color I used on my grill.  Hopefull someone with more brain power will chime in.

It was a smooth black suede finish on the R/T and T/A grills and bezels.
