Power steering - something wrong..???

You know the sound from the power steering pump, when you turn the wheels all the way out.

Mine does that all the time when the car don't roll, can't turn the wheels - When I look at the pump, and turn (not me;-) the st.wheel, it seems like the pump stops, like the belt can't turn it.
Oil is rigth at the spot.
When rolling/driving, no sound at all, just works.. But seems like, when you turn the wheels, it get a life of it's own, very very ligth steering, especially to the rigth..

Any clues..???

Based on what you wrote I'd say that your power steering pump is about to fail.   :faint:
If the pump makes a noise most of the time and stops turning it is locking up.
I assume that the drive belt is tensioned up correctly??   :working:

OK,- Now I have changed the belt to a new one, and pump works perfect.... :ylsuper:

BUT..... Still got probs...
When turning the steering wheel left, it's like I'm driving the car, - but when turning rigth, it's like the powersteering wants to keep turning all the way out, and don't come back to straigth after turning, - just a little push at rigth, and it will keep on turning rigth out to max.....???

the valve on the top of the steering box held on with 2 small bolts where the return hose attaches is offcenter , loosen the bolts & try tapping the valve up or down on the box slightly

Do I have to move it a little up, or down, for left or rigth..???

What will course it to be out of center..???
