R & L Carriers are crooks!
« on: October 15, 2007 - 11:28:28 PM »
I purchased a hemi 4 speed back in June and R and L Carriers lost it! :swear: Then I filed a claim and they denied it! SO I have filed a complaint with the better business bureau and I will let you know how it goes. But everyone be warned do not ship anything through R and L Carriers they will steal your parts and then tell you they didn't and try and offer you pennies for what it is worth. :stomp: :swear:

Ouch! How can they deny it? Did they claim that you received it or something? Something sure sounds fishy there.

First I was told it was placed on the wrong truck and that it ended up in Connecticut, and they put it on the right truck and it was coming to me. Then they tried to deliver someone elses package. Which we of course denied, after that we filed the claim. A month later they deny the claim, so I contacted the BBB and filed a complaint with them, now I am playing the waiting game again.

Didn't I read a post on this earlier?  It really sux! Was this a used unit/rebuilt unit. I hate to tell you what the carriers liability is on things that aren't new. Hope you had it insured. I'm gonna guess what happended to your trans.... (BIG could be wrong/but BIG ships alot of parts).  Somewhere along the line your trans and the pallet it was on got seperated. Now it's just some trans laying on the floor of a trailer or a terminal. And nobody (RL employees) knows where it goes. Sometimes this is due to improper attachment to the pallet other times rough handing. Pallets can do alot of bouncing goin down the interstate in the back of a trailer. I think someone works for RL on this site. Anyway I had a problem with them myself a few years back. GOOD LUCK!

If we ship something on frieght line today I'll post a pic so you get an idea how we do it.

The BBB can't really do anything except warn other people, which is nice but doesn't solve your problem.  I might be wrong, but since this crosses state lines wouldn't it be under the jurisdiction of the FBI? I'd want to have somebody with authority breathing down their necks if it was me.

Good luck, 72Hemi.

the BBB is a joke, they have no enforcement power except to pull their membership

How can they deny a claim if you didn't get your package? They already admitted they screwed up when they sent your tranny to CT. Did you speak to the main office, or just some phone flunky? Keep trying to go higher in the company until you get someone that might be able to help.
