Hello all. I have all of the hoods in stock, if anyone would like specific pictures let me know, I talked to Ben Snobar and he has test fitted the hood and it fit just fine, We are picking up a 70 cuda that has never had the fenders or header piece taken off, I will test fit this shaker to that car and post some pics. Should be this time next week. The metal thickness is as original which is .040. I do have some pictures on my web store at www.rosevillemoparts.com.

BE & A Parts are selling some trim rings that supposedly fit better than the one that came w/the AMD hood.

Leftovers from manufacturing an upcoming Shaker hood to compete w/AMD.

Does the AMD-supplied trim ring fit that bad?

the AMD ring does fit fine on the Cuda hood. on the challenger it seems to be high on the rear part. The big differnce is the AMD ring the stud are pressed from the top into the ring and then the ring is refinished. The BEA ring is all cast with the stud casted with the ring.

First, this isn't directed at ANYONE.  Thanks to all who posted/replied.      Now...
<rant on>
This is absolutely ridiculous.  After nearly begging, for 3 months , on multiple Mopar fan sites, we still can't get a photo of a production hood on a car, with a shaker bubble on the engine, with paint, in the light, in high resolution, WHERE WE CAN ACTUALLY SEE SOME DETAIL.  The last 1000 pictures of my wife/car/house/dog or whatever each have more detail than the pictures of this hood, all combined have.  I've bought two cars based on pictures.  Six years ago, for the Challenger - better than these photos.  My cellphone does better detail.

Whoa, steady on Vert. ;) I guess being so new no one has had time to do a 2 year resto in 2 months and have one painted & installed to view for fitment. Give it time and you'll see more photos. Hardly losing any sleep over though.

Setting a hood on the car like in the Ebay listing is fine, but the true fitment can only be determined by bolting it to the hinges and hood latch.  If there are any design problems, that will be when they are obvious.  Also, I agree that I would not buy any of the repo hoods until I see a few painted and on a car, because if there are any waves in the metal, etc, they will be much more obvious.  Also, I'd be interested to hear how much body work will go into getting them straight.  I'm patient so I'll look forward to seeing how these projects progress.  :popcorn:

Carlisle, early July. Prototypes? Production? Now, early November.  FOUR months!  Bolt on, adjust, mark, remove, paint, dry, bolt on, take picture.  Two days, not two years.

Dealers and Manufacturer should handle this.  Its their product.  I've never posted a for sale item on Ebay with so little detail.  Craigslist has more detail.

Oh well, what ya gonna do. :dunno: :smokin:

Yes, mark, bolt etc but I doubt anyone will rush a resto in 2 days just to fit a hood for someone else eh.  :wave:
Most will probably be like me, purchase and store till we ready, if your that keen call and ask.  ;)

I just picked up three of these hoods this weekend (one for myself and two for a friends cars, two cuda hoods and a challenger hood) from Ben Snobar. They are packaged really well, and look awesome out of the box. From what I've seen today they fit really well too. I went over to a buddies shop, he is currently restoring a 70 cuda (keisler 5 spd, crate hemi, dana, etc) for a customer. He was fitting an AMD shaker hood when I was there (I knew he had the hood as I looked at it before I went to pick up mine, I didn't think it would be on the car though when I went there otherwise I would have taken my camera).  As far as fitment he said it took a bit of tinkering but overall fit really well. He said it fit as well as he would expect a stock hood to fit. He wasn't done when I left but the gaps looked great to me. Sorry, no camera with me at the time. If I go back there soon I'll snap a pic and post them.  Just thought you guys might like to know.

That is great news I may buy a shaker hood for my 70 Cuda sooner than I thought if they end up fitting without much trouble. Post some picture as soon as you can 2000gt.
