Find them used.

I paid a grand for rims and tires.  Plus a buck and a half for shipping.  Just keep an eye out they come up.

Good luck

900 is a decent amount for just rims either way.  Did you look at the one's from summit racing?  A little bit more but nice.

I agree with 72chall - Buying rims used is a great way to save some $$$

I bought the TT copies used and only paid $500.00 incl shipping for all 4 rims. Bought the Eagle 212's for $500.00 incuding shipping AND tires  ;D

Just picked up a pair of 17*8 Eagle 212's for another project (my 72 RR clone I am building) - set me back a WHOPPING $100.00 including shipping for the PAIR

yeah so I was on Ebay and I found these wheels!  :ebay: There mustang wheels so they will require 1" wheel spacers but I think it will be worth it! There black Chrome FR500 wheels 17 X 10.5 on the back and 17 X 9 on the front. Does anyone have wheel spacers, are they real bad to have?

I run thin spacers, it torqued the wheels off the ground about 5 ft/lb at a time. So atleast they are centered on the lugs the best they can. Retorqued after a few drives, and they seem fine. I did run longer Mr. Gasket "Racing" studs so i get all my thread engagement. 1" is a bit much of spacer. May look into adapters that have their own studs on them. I'm not sure 10.5s will fit without issue. I run 9s and they are about maxxed out on my car on stock wells.

oh im sorry I said that wrong i am getting wheel adapters. The wheel will be a 10.5 in. wide but the tire will be a nitto NT555R 275/40/17 which is only about 11 in. wide. Goody how wide are your 295's? Heres thet same wheel in Chrome, I think this is what i will be ordering.

Well considering the rims are a six inch backspace on a 10.5 inch wheel with a 24 mm offset, i will need a 1 in wheel adapter for the 1in offset and another .25 in for the backspacing which should be 5.75 for a cuda on a 10.5 inch wheel. Meaning a 15 X 8 for a cuda has a 4 and 1/2 in backspace, so every additional 1in width of rim equals 1/2 inch backspace. So I will need a 1.25 inch adapter. Right?

Here's a photoshop chop of a FR-500 rim.  I seriously considered these and I like the way they look.... however all my friends that I showed it to, didn't like them and neither did my wife.   :dunno:

On the plus side they are a pretty light rim as well.  Anyway, if you can imagine this in your blue color it will give you some idea of what your car would like, or just change it in photoshop.  My personal opinion is that black rims do not look good on a blue car.  I think you would be better off with silver or chrome.

yeah thanks for the photoshop I actually just ordered american racing torq lite polished 17" wheels. I wasnt sure about the wheel spacing adapters and like you said not eveyone was a fan especially when I showed them the torq lite wheels. I think it will be nice cause i will be going to the bigger wheel but still be keeping the old school look. However I still think the FR500 wheels in chrome would have been sweet!

Thanks Again!
