Nice looking wheels for a Cuda?
« on: October 19, 2007 - 12:18:07 PM »
Hi,

Im looking for some nice wheels for my cuda. I was thinking something at least 17" in diameter. Post some pics of your cuda or challenger with info on the wheels and backspacing. Also does anyone know the widest tire you can fit on it?

Thanks

yeah I was looking at these wheels in chrome. but I think im going to get 17s all around because i need a drag radial for the back and once you go to 18s there way to expensive.
do the 295s rub the leaf springs? By the way I saw your car in mopar mag and it looks 100 times better with the new wheels!

A fantastic question fellow 'Cuda friend!

I am also considering 17" wheels for my 'Cuda, and have searched a couple sites and taken some notes.  My next task is to photoshop each of these on my 'Cuda, but I haven't had the few hours to spare, and with our computer severly on the fritz after getting some bad spyware infections, it's really not up to the task right now.

But I'll give you the list if you'd like to look into them, and you can scan TireRack and DiscountTireDirect.com to see how they look.

Searching in 5-114.3 x 17" (any widths)

MB Wheels - Predator

Replica Alloys - GT500 Mustang

Ace - Radium

Konig - Beyond

Konig - Stampede

TSW - Vortex

Granite Alloy - GA4.5

Koda - MD3

Koda - 215

MSW Wheel Effect - Type 12

P.S.  Alright I got bored and just pulled the images down for ya.  So since I did that for you, you can photoshop them for me.  :)  lol

Jeff

**EDIT**  Ya know looking over those again, those Type 12's at the bottom are really really growing on me...

yeah thanks for posting the wheels I think I like the moda 215 out of all of them. However I dont think most of those companys will fit on a cuda. I think im going to go with some american racing torque thrust m's in chrome with some nitto NT555 R's. however I am not set on this wheel yet so keep posting!

PS: I would photoshop the MSW Wheel Effect - Type 12 for you but its hard to photoshop a wheel that is on an angle.

Thanks for the help!

This is another one I did (No it's not the same car)

This has Eagle Alloys type 212 16" * 7" all around.  Tires were 265/50/16 if I recall correctly.  Sorry I idon't have any better pics of either as i had a computer failure about a year ago and lost a TON of pics.

How much are you willing to pay for rims, because that might drive your selection more then anything?  Do you know what style of rim you're looking for?  Like a 5-spoke or something else?

The cheapest way to get in to 17's is the Mustang replica rims like the Bullitt, FR500, Cobra R, Saleen, etc.  Just be careful because a lot of the replica rims have too much backspacing for an old muscle car.  Here's some example or just do a search on eBay for Mustang rims:

I dont want to spend over 900 on a set of rims. I like the 5 spoke how ever some of the new GT500 wheels look really good too. ChallengerGary I think I like the toque thrust wheels better, and I love the color combo on the challenger. If anyone has other suggestions please post!

Thanks again
