MSD has wiring diagrams on their site
Basics are heavy red & black to Battery + & -  terminal
small red to  12v switched wire , there will be a 2 into 1 wire in the msd box of parts , connect the wire into Both the Blue & brown wire at each end of the ballast & connect the red wire from the MSD into the twinned connetor , remove the ballast resister
Orange & black wires to coil , orange to + , blk to -
Green & violet to dist plug
White is not used
remove & replace the dist care full noting where # 1 ign wire is positioned on the cap & where the rotor is pinted BEfore removing old dist

I have the exact same car, a 72 340 Cuda with a 440 now, except it was stroked recently to 496. I also have the MSD distributor and 6AL box. I also have a 72 service manual with electrical schematics. Let my know if you have specific questions.
72 Cuda, owned 25 years. 496, with ported Stage VI heads, .625 in solid roller, 254/258 at .050, 3500 stall, 3.91 rear. 850 Holley DP, Reverse manual valve body.

1999 Trans Am, LS1, heads, cam, headers, stall, etc! Love to surprise the rice rockets with this one. They seem so confident, then it's "what the heck just happened?"

I was so lucky. I'm looking in the classifieds and some older guy was selling an original 72 Chrysler service manual for $15. Covers practically everything. My 440 was getting old after about 10 years, so did a total rebuild back around 2002. Decided to use all the best parts, and stroke it to 496. Also used ported aluminum Stage 6 heads, solid roller cam, lightweight pistons, M1 intake, etc etc. Tranny is a 727 with 3500 stall. I just drive it on the weekends when the weather is nice. Its scary fast when I floor it. Got a 3:91 in the rear with BFG Drag radials. Its been a work in progress every since I got the car in 1991. Thousands of weekend tinkering hours, blood, sweat, tears, pain, money. Always do whatever I can to be faster. Probably not a part that has not been replaced, but still looks pretty much stock. Probably have about 10 afermarket gauges. How do you have your car set up?
