« on: October 25, 2007 - 11:24:22 PM »

JH23 models - Approximately 53,000

JH27 models - Approximately 3,000

JH29 models - Approximately 6,500

JS23 models - Approximately 15,000

JS27 models - Approximately 1,000

JS29 models - Approximately 4,000

The sales figures are for US sold cars only as far as I know, and based on a sales percentage, not a "real" number.

Ward's also shows approximate breakout by engine type of 1970 Challengers:

Approximately 11,400 were six-cylinder.

Approximately 51,700 were non-R/T eight-cylinder

Approximately 19,900 were R/T eight-cylinder

Approximately 83,000 total U.S. production  (83,032 actual)

Can that be right?  I thought that '74 the Barracuda outsold the Challenger for the first time.   :clueless:

...and all five years of both models combined still didn't sell as many as a single year's production of camaros.

 which explains the difficulty we've had over the years in getting the parts we need.  :violin:
