Cool story ad car!

I like the old school slots!  Don't see those snorkel scoops much either!

Thanks all for the welcome, i keep checking in when i can, this month i am the old tractor man, been promising my father i would restore his old 9n ford tractor, you can barely see it behind the chal. been puttin him off long enough so its time. just not fun like working on the car.

thanks slotts, pretty much everything from the doors back is still as it was, unmolested, 92,000 originals, and no rust. once i cut the front back off and do it right this time, oops youth  :misbehaving:, the rest will be easy.

little history on the old car in the garage, it was bought in 78 from the original owner, special order order Ralleye 340 with out the side vents.

Hi, 733404,

Just wondering about the "no side vents".  Can you give me a little more info on that?  My car is an early '72 with out the Rallye louvers also.  Do you have a delete code on the buildsheet or were you told it was ordered with out the vents?  I was told that my car didn't get the louvers since I had the bodyside moulding from the factory but not really sure.

Let me go through the paperwork tonight, i dont remember a delete code but its been years since i looked at the order or build sheet, mine was a factory moulding car as well but one piece was trashed in the wreck the rest still resides on a pair of hooks in the garage.

Gotta ask, where'd you get those scoops?  They do look really nice and I'm thinking of a set for my car.

That hood has been like that since 82, somebody probably still makes them but i haven't seen one for years. i just stuck it on for cleareance problems, someday i'll save up the money to get the original bulge back on there.

Are you asking about the side fender louvers or the prostock style hood scoop?  :clueless:

Thanks for checking 733404.     When I looked on my build sheet before, I didn't notice a delete code where the louvers are listed.  I figured the louvers got overrided once the mouldings got put on the car.  I've only seen a couple of cars with the FACTORY body side moulding and the louvers and I believe the louvers were added on by the owner, not by the factory but you never know.....

Ha!  Both pics are an illusion, but thanks!  The pic on the right is a 1/24 scale model of my car. (You probably already guessed that!)  The pic on the left is my car but with MS Paint I added a supercharger and Keystone Klassics.  I have those wheels and a Mr. Gasket Street Scoop in the basement to add on when I get a chance.  Right now the car has Magnum 500s.

No rush on the info.  It was just something interesting.  Thanks for checking it out though!   :2cents: I have all my documentation in a folder in the house so the little mice won't get a second chance at it.

The lower side fender louvers on the side of 71340RT's blue RT.  Never seens those in any of the pictures but I think they look really sharp!  Can anyone tell me where you could get some if their car didn't come with them?

Those I beleive were specifically for the '71 model year, rear quarter louvers.  I think you can get them aftermarket.  MEK has them on his '70.  They do look cool.  :grinyes:
