rear spring question....
« on: November 05, 2007 - 09:16:02 PM »
Does anyone know if I can use 67-71 b-body heavy duty rear springs on my 71 e-body? I looked up the part number that is on the springs that I got and they coinceide with 67-71 b-bodies. They are part numbers: P4452982 and P4452983. Any help would be appreciated.

They will bolt in but will not fit correctly. E body springs are shorter overall than B body springs so your shackle angle will be off. The front segments are the same, so your axle will still be in the correct location, but the longer rear segment on the B body springs will allow the shackle to hit the rear valance, although with a Challenger you might be able to squeak by.

I had a problem like that when I was changing them last year, may be I received the B springs by accident.  :dunno:
