Wanted: Ebody shell or rolling chassis
« on: November 06, 2007 - 02:12:09 AM »
I am interested in finding a usuable shell or rolling chasis of an E-body (any year).  It does not have to have a hood, fenders, bumpers, engine, etc.  I am on a budget, so I cannot afford anything over $1500.  I know that is not much for any E-body, but that is all I can spare right now.  Please show me what you got.

Thanks in advance.

Just wanted to add that it does not have to have a title as long as I can get a bill of sale from the owner.

I am sure someone has a body that they have been taking parts off and never plan to restore.

Where are you? I just saw a 73 Rallye on craigslist for $1000.

At first glance it looked a little rusty, but I didn't really go over it in detail.

:iagree: For that price and how well the underbody as a whole looks, I'd say it would be worth looking into.  An original 340 car, too. :faint:

Well after looking at the pictures a little more, I am very interested, but since I live over 600 miles away, I am debating over it.

Is there anyone that lives nearby that may be able to take a look at it?

Also does anyone know how to lookup the VIN (JH23H3B196151) and make sure it is not reported stolen or totaled since it does not have a title?

That's about 4 hours for me, but I'll be up there over Thanksgiving if you don't find anybody beforehand.

Okay, thanks.
But please don't go out of your way to look at it, that would be too much to ask anyone.  I would rather you spend your time with your family than looking at a car.   :2thumbs:

I will be spending as much time with my family as I can tolerate

Seriously, my buddy Roger lives in Fredericksburg and I'll be there for a day, probably on Saturday, so I could head out there then.

Nothhing came up on a Google search... figure the best thing is to go to the Department of Motor Vehicles.  :dunno:

ChallengerGary said he had a police friend that could look it up for me, so I sent him the VIN.
