Thanks guys, it actually makes sense now, kinda like  base model Corvette and ZR-1,

yeah, I checked, it's G11,not C11,

I just wish there was no such option as a crappy vinyl top, cause it makes the roff rusty,oh well, I guess I'll find out once I have it blasted if I'll have to replace it or weld few patches

Yeah, vinyl tops definitely have their problems, but if you go hi-impact, sometimes a vinyl top will 'quieten' the car down a little, which I prefer on my Limelight car.  That's NOT to say I dislike hi-impact cars without a vinyl top.  When you are able to keep the car inside after restoring it, it's a cool idea to go back with vinyl, but if it has to stay outside, even with a cover, it's probably a good idea to go without.  Even in the garage, the top will sweat some again...just not as fast.

You have an awesome car to start with, especially as complete as it is.  Best of luck with it!

No problem man...you can get a lot of help on this site.  No question is a dumb question (I hope - I've asked some doozies!   ).   They put some very bright colors on these old muscle cars.  The brighter of the bunch (Limelight - lime green, Top Banana - yellow, Panther Pink - you know, Plum Crazy - purple, Vitamin C - orange , etc) were known as hi-impact colors.  A vinyl top and a stripe sometimes set off these cars pretty well!

So if you had a big block '70 Cuda and swapped in a small block, will some people think it is sacreligeous?

:dupe: :dupe: Notice to everyone to stop talking to Go-Fish on account that he is contemplating to commit sacrelige against his Mopar. :dupe: :dupe:

You do what ever you want buddy.  As long as that small block is over 408 cubes...... :2thumbs:

if only race gas wasn't that high, I would stuff Indy big block in that engine bay,I just don't want to spend $100 on gas 3 or 4 times a week ,driving the car everyday

1970 Barracudas were available with 6 cylinders, 318 and 383.
Gran Coupes were available with 318 and 383. Maybe a six, but I've never seen one.
1970 Cudas were available with 340, 383, 440, 440-6 and 426.
The bulge hood (often called a cuda hood) could be ordered on any model, so it was not a sign of being a cuda as some people believe.
Both of my Gran Coupes, 70 and 71 had 318's, The 70 had the bulge hood and the 71 had the flat hood.
My 71 Cuda has a 340, the smallest engine available in a cuda in 71.

1973 Cuda Clone, EFI/OD Limelight

1971 Barracuda Sassy Grass Green (sold)
1970 Challenger RT SE 383 Plum Crazy
1969 Road Runner Hardtop
1968 Road Runner Coupe (sold)

You guys failed to mention that the 72-74 BS Cudas could be had with a smaller engine than the standard 340 or 360. My 73 I'm selling is a case in point. It is a real BS car that originally came with a 318.

Barracuda came with the following motors: 170, 225, 318, 383 2bbl., & 383 4bbl.
Gran Coupes came with 225, 318, 383 2 bbl., & 383 4bbl., but not clear of the 170.
'Cudas came with 383 4bbl., 340, 440, 440 six pak & Hemi, of course.

I have seen just one slant 6 Gran Coupe awhile back on eBay. I also have a picture of a VIN tag from a 1970 Barracuda - BH23BOB !!! :22yikes:

Back in 1982 there was a salvage yard near me that had a 1970 BARRACUDA in their yard, striped, but there was a 340 hockey stripes on it! :22yikes: I only ever saw 2 of these & wondered if anyone ever heard of these BARRACUDA's with 340 before? Anyone? (What $ucks is that I never grabbed the fender tags form those cars either, I was like 17 & did not know much about those at that time! :stomp: )

Are you all saying that in 1971 if I went into a dealership and told them that I wanted a Barracuda model but would not accept it without a 440 that the dealership and factory would not put the engine that I wanted into the car?  I thought that if you really wanted something back then you could almost always pull the right strings and have just what you wanted.  Of which we have lost in our current car sales.
