    I dont remember where I read it, but seems to me it can be either blue or red.     Ovmf

    The correct color is blue.  70 and 71 big block were orange and 72-74 small blocks were blue.

     I think it changed to blue for SB during mid year of either 70 or 71

    68 69 340 are red 70 71 340 are orange .mid 71 72 73 340 are blue  ;)

    What they said... ;D but if its not a show car i would paint it what ever color you want....i am going to be painting my 318 hemi orange thats going into my truck :D:D along with the trans and TCase i think

    Yeh 67Vette, but if we want them to go fast, better paint them a cool mopar color!!  Running better isn't everything!!   ;D   ;D

    LB congrats to you and Rev on Moderator status. Is that your father's engine bay? If so what is the part number on the wiper motor? I recently won the same air breather for my 73 off ebay.

    Thanks Russ!! Yeah, that'd my dad's engine... we sanded and repainted the air cleaner assembly then put the sticker on it.... paint was still tacky headed to a show, add in the hot engine... now part of the under hood insulation is orange... ::) lol!!!! As far as that part number... I'll have to get that to ya next time I'm over there... probably later this week!! ;)
