so this is how i do it.  Line tape.   Then mark adjustments and retry.  Wasn't that bad really,Just patience. And a very keen eye.    Been waiting a long time for this. Crank some Zeppelin and slip into that place of total concentration.   I thrive on it.   Been all over the place today.  From 2-3000 and 3 stage buff to 220 hack firsts on the spoiler. Anyone in their right mind woulda just painted it.     Lot's going on.    The weather isn't cooperating so I'm doing what I can.  Gettn ready to seal the hood,Header n bumper.    I'll respray the tail light trim rings gloss, Think it will look better.  Really need to tint them.

Sitting here just staring at the stripe... :stirpot:

It looks like we both ran our fuel pump to carb lines the same way.....Changed the carb inlet to a banjo fitting and ran the line straight down and to the front.  Then the fuel filter followed by a 45 degree fitting with braided line down to the pump.

Do you have your line supported in any way?  Mine seems a little flimsy.  It seems to me that the 90 degree hard line(aluminum) that comes off the carb has a lot of bounce to it.  I'm worried what will happen over time from vibration/going over bumps exc.  The last thing we need is for the hard line to crack.  I'm trying to think of an attractive way to support the line so there isn't so much weight on that banjo fitting/line.  I don't really like the look of those rubber coated clamps but that seems to be the easiest thing to do.  I could attach a clamp to the front fuel pump bolt or to the unused hole on the cylinder head.(next to the alternator pivot hole)

Pretty straight huh?      :poopoke:    Hey Burdar, My fuel line actually has a 180* fitting right off the pump.  That might help support the filter just a little. Gets the line underneath itself.  I haven't noticed any problems. And I know what you mean.  The plastic washers aren't quite as good as the brass IMO.  You really gotta tighten that banjo bolt.

I also have a 180 degree fitting off the pump.  The whole setup just moves a little too much for my liking.  I'll have to figure something out to stabilize it.

Well, I sure tried real hard. But it just wasn't meant to be. Today  (my b day) was the "goal" I set long ago to be "done". Or driving around and playing with it.    The last two months have been real bad for me.  Dealing with a lot. Not gonna bore you with it all but. Recently my dog of 14 yrs. has gotten a lot worse. He's had a nasal fungal infection for a while. And nothing we did seemed to help. It was pretty bad and ended up in the University veterinary teaching college. He's doing ok for now. But it's brought me to my knees. He's my best friend.
The weather has not cooperated at all.  Thunderstorms in the afternoon like clockwork. And now the cotton wood is in the air. So not sure on when I'll pull the trigger. But I'm real close.   Got the hood fit up and the pins installed.  Took some work,But was worth it for the flush look like the door handles.  Front spoiler is ready too.  Glass showed up,Looks good!   Get on the list for that install.  And working on the exhaust!!  Been waiting on the muffs.  I would not recommend Ram Air restorations under any circumstances.  Five months wait is absurd. Deal is he straight up lied to me twice.  Anyways, I'm moving forward.

My friends say I shouldn't be too hard on myself for not making my "deadline"  It was just something to shoot for and I gave it a heck of a try. And I am proud of how far I've come.

One for John Henry.  Yeah, I'm a drummer.  We are a lot alike.
