Can't thank you all enough for the support!  Wish you knew…

Walked into the shop today with both sides fresh and ready for guide coat.  5 hrs. later revealed an interesting surprise.   Lows on both sides. In the same places. Eerily similar.  Almost exactly the same actually.     I sat back and smiled.      Because it means all that stands between me and destiny.   Even the curvature of one side is the same as the other.

So I stopped…               All of a sudden I knew I was gonna get it.     I have a technique that allows for perfection to be achieved. An adaptation of techniques.  A definite epiphany of sorts.    Hard to explain…   Like after all that work…     All that suffering…    One small piece of the puzzle.  A technicality. Led to an understanding.   A new level.       The walls of doubt began to fall.  The longer I stared at her the more I started to smile…   And knew that I was close.

As a cat playing with a mouse before deciding to kill it…   I circled the car.  My hands over every inch.    She was mine…

I sincerely wish you all...the best with your projects.     Believe in yourself.  Do your best.   And it will happen.

Honored to be a member here.  And proud to show my work.    Thanx again for the encouragement.  Sometimes…  It means a lot.

They both pose their own unique challenges. As do most cars. At a very high level.      IMO.   The single, Simple smooth line of the cuda makes for more of a challenge R. Ha.     The challengers distinct body line on the other hand is just the opposite.  Yet your eye goes right down it.   And the way the doors have that point on them… Sooooo cool!!! :smoking:    Hard to say which is tougher…      The charger was just plain BIG.   :poopoke:

The car looks great! You're so close to having it painted - keep at it. I'm still replacing rusty sheet metal... talk about discouraging. I take one piece off to fix and find 3 more sections that need work  :walkaway:

Been sanding/priming ect…  Everyday. 8-10 hrs.     for forever…   Tired.  Bet I've blocked her out over 100 times.    Decided to take it up to 400 and sneak a peek.
Not perfect.  But finally got "the line" where I wanted it after some "intense finesse".  And got the small part above the wheel lips acceptable.  That was tough getting just right.     Sooooo… after  a quick wet down I wasn't disappointed.  Not 100% p e r f e c t . My best assessment would be about an 8.   If you don't get down on your knees and work your head back and forth like a bird looking in just the right spot…     And know what you're looking for…       My eyes see freakn everything.        I tried taking pictures of it wet but it's just a grey mirror.

It's pretty nice…    :swaying:

A few more rounds on the rear valence and bumper fit up too…   All the return flanges back there. And the tail panel is close.  Got the dutchman in too..   Then I got bored and pumped out the front valence.    You might want to step back.  As my mouth is beginning to foam up a little…     When it's not the whole side of the car things go a little better.  And I'm real motivated. Driven. Obsessed.  Ect…

But there's sooooooooooooooooooooo   many things left to do before sealer.    Paint is but a figment of my imagination at this point.   But I'm still swingn !! :horse:

ahhhh   yaaaaa….    I'm really startin to struggle…  It's the very bottom of the doors. And the very top of the rockers right under the doors.  Both sides same deal.  Thing is… I see it on almost every car.  My buddy cruised over in his 70 charger.  Our 69 charger and 75 duster.  All.

I have worked the bottom of the door to no end.  days and days and days.   still gettn wobbles. no matter how I sand.  Skim the whole thing. doesn't matter.  I've gotten pissed and laid into it with 36 grit.  One end to the other.  With the door popped open in the back a little and the fender tucked in the front. Allowing full strokes. Right off the edge.  Still there.  I'm about at my wits end.  sure, It's something most don't see.  And the rest of the car is gettn close r.     I just can't seem to figure out why?

Been working on this thing way way too much.   Obsessed.  Real tired.  Upset.  Overwhelmed.   What am I doing?  uhg.     ya it's nice overall. Don't get me wrong. Just frustrated.  My whole body's jacked.   Can't get it perfect. *sigh*    I try so hard.   everything i got. and it's really just these two areas. The rest of it I can deal with.  Why?

Go out and get your face way down low and really look at your car.  Get the light just right and move your head back and forth watching the reflections…    Am I the only one?         Guess I needed to come here and vent.  Check in. Share my struggle.    gettn bummed.

Just step back, maybe you're using too much pressure, maybe you need a different width board. I think that area should be relatively flat as compared to slightly curved. Just throwing ideas out there, you'll figure it out.

If this is the case, it may be an area where it takes some major metal rework get things close. Atfer all, you are dealing with 90* or more bends in metal that intersect in several different areas. Getting them all perfect in a simple stamping is probably not going to happen with out some cutting, welding, and filling.

Went to goldens supercruize…   every single car I looked at has wobbles down the doors.  Ford,Chevy… New and old.  EVERY CAR.   Or you're just blind.  It's ok most are.     Every car on this site has em…

Been working on the car everyday.  Everyday.   Sometimes 12-14 hrs.  Getting closer…   Finally got the valences and rear bumper "done"   My bro got me to re-du some stuff…     Soooo…   I decided to recoat the entire bottom of the car again. Out comes the black death.  otherwise known as chassis saver.   Lookn good under there!!

Got a fender stand on order. Gonna paint the doors on. Everything else off.   Can't tell you how many hrs. I got in…     Days turn into months and months turn into years.  That's all I know.

She's sitting in 600 wet condition.   Probably go through it again one more time.  Decided on a barrier coat.  So hafta do it all again.  and again and again…

I sure can sand though…   Some hate it.     Give me fresh primer er filler and I'm off sanding.  It's like meditating.  So I'll haft pick a color soon.  Ya black. UhG.

Final fit-up this week…   Wait till you see her!!! :stir pot:   R/T
