Thanx all     sometimes it seems the closer I get the farther away it goes!   Hm  So I couldn't leave well enough alone and out came the plasti-dip. Er duplicolor equivalent.   And I knew right away. Didn't even have to let it dry.   So powder coat it is.  These are just for now,I'm planning on shortening the axel and going with 11" in back. Same wheel.   It really showed me the all flat/satin look. And made the whole car look lower. Smaller.  Eh, I did lower the back end considerably today.  Had to go through the 4 link and stuff in the driveshaft. Oh,And called on that dang exhaust, They finally got it and will ship tomorrow!  That's good news. Excited for that hood to show up.  Need to push, Not rushing anything here. Just real motivated.    Ha can ya tell?      :working:   R/T

so wutcha think?    I'll roll her out again as soon as I can and get a better look.    :picture:

I really like the black, but would recommend leaving the outer lip polished or silver. This will give offset them just enough and I believe actually make them look bigger. I did this with my 10 Challenger and my Viper. I painted my wheels with black satin epoxy and they turned out well.

This is a tough tough call, looking at posts 562 & 563 the outer rim looks good silver or black, but I'm thinking if you run black walls, no white lettering go with silver or polished rim, I mean it's that close. Noticed between the 2 pictures one rim has 7 spoke the other has 5. Would be nice to know whoever did these drawings if they dreamed these wheels up or if they had seen them somewhere?
I like the rims on the drawings a lot, either 5 or 7 spoke. They do look mean and you just don't see them around at all which I really like.
Having the right rims, height, width and set is just as important as the body color. It would be like wearing a suit with Nikes  :dunno:
This stuff drives me nuts trying to get it right, but you'll know when it's right and your not compromising.
Good luck!

I kinda like the all satin look.     Gloss rim and flat spokes might be too much.   Keep it simple. Geeze, I might just clean them up and plastidip em all until I can figure something out.      Stinger fiberglass box showed up, I was sanding till midnight.   Looks good,Nice pieces.     Too bad it's too cold out this week. I'd be a painting fool.     Met with the glass guys,What a couple of characters.  They did the reactor mushstang.   Got glass ordered.  Went with grey all around. Looked better with the black.   They want to do the side glass and trim and all,Hm wonder what this will cost.

wanted to really show you the top of the fenders.  Too bad they gotta be satin because they are perfect!  Sometimes i even amaze myself! ha.

Very nice. I need to clean my hood up as well (have the same one), but I need to get color on the car first.

Keepin at it.     Glass is ordered! $1800       Material for the rear seat cover that matches the fronts is on the way! Got an upholsterer in the works. Need to design something simple there.  The weather has been poopie and can't shoot paint or primer.  So prep prep prep.   Hood is good.  Trimmed a bunch off the inside of the scoop opening. Been sanding on the grille (no texture) almost ready.    Lot's of fit up on the front end but it's coming along nicely.  Fighting the old warped grille.  Header panel is real close.  The bumper hugs the fenders so tight I'm concerned on getting it on there without scratching something when it's all done.  The studs I fiberglassed on worked so good I'm working on a couple more down low to try and pull it to a better fit there.  The mounts hook on to the flange of the front valence.  Real sneaky like.   blah blah

black or red outline on the back of the stripe?   Hmmm.

oh.  This years DH bike showed up!

How did you mount the mesh in the hood scoop? I want to do the same think but haven't given a lot of thought on how to do it.

Also, where did you get the "Cuda 340" stickers? I had originally planned on putting AAR stripes on my Cuda but then decided against it, however I do like the stickers you are showing.

Hm yeah those are cool wheels!  Was trying to get away from the uni-lug,But I could plug em.   Not much dish. I'll look into what they come in.

Hey CP, DH bikes are real expensive.  This one is a cheapie at 4K wholesale. Carbon fiber.  27.5" wheels.  Lot's changed in bikes lately with rim sizes.  Most big rigs go for 8-10K and thats just too much for me.  I'm not racing anymore,But real fast for an old man.    Are you interested in DH ?  I could hook you up!!

Another all day affair at the shop today.  the lack of precipitation in one form or another allowed for a first prime on the Front bumper and hood.   Turned out pretty good considering.   Can't wait to scratch away.  It's like an itch, I love to sand.  Hard to stop. Yeah, I'm crazy.

the mesh in the scoop is just playn around.  Kinda too easy.   It's gutter guard from HD.   aluminum, easy to shape, cut. Cheap.  After cutting away the front portion that's bonded together the two layers separate.  Allowing for a return flange to be inserted between them.  the mesh I'm holding should have a longer flange for better friction fit butt i was messn around.  Done this b4.  Bend the sides over, Form it around the hole.  Could leave some extra on the sides and put in a couple little screws on the backside pretty easy to help hold it snug.    I'll probably fiberglass in some brass mounting bosses on either side.  And get some molded plastic honeycomb/SRT like stuff and bolt it in.   In a perfect world I'd find a busted grill and salvage the fins out of one side and fit em in.  That way it would match.   Anyone out there got a busted round tail light grille?  ha.

hey 70chall440,  are you painting the fenders on?   I have a fender stand you can use for as long as you'd like.
