Sorry to *****.  On a more positive note, It's not the whole car.   And now I got a gallon of satin black for the same price as a half!  Uhg.   Waitin to go get a tooth pulled. yay.     Came here to get advice on where to get a spoiler.  It shipped before 11 am the next day. No hassle. No fuss. And I'm sure it's nice.  You guys have never steered me wrong. Never.    So yeah, I can't really chill out too much.  Not gonna give up now.  Wish i knew how many days straight it's been. My record is 192.  No really.   I'm just too hard on myself.    The difference between really nice and perfect is sometimes light years.   Need to remember how far I've come and keep taking steps. Even if they are baby ones.  Thanx for listening.

Just shot the satin again, It's still too glossy.  Pretty demoralizing.    Got the rear spoiler,It's not much better than the one I have.  The native americans here know me as "the one who sands"   Be needn more 600.  Just like to do it for the practice now.  Someone shoot me.    Seems like I'm going backwards. Sure do try hard.  Like I said, It's probably time for a different hobby.

Don't take this wrong, but maybe you are trying too hard. How perfect is perfect enough? Not suggesting you accept less quality that you want, but you have to work with the constraints you have In terms of materials. If you are confident you can attain the level you want, then drive on, but if not then you might need to step back and look at the larger picture. Not trying suggest mediocracy, just realism. Based on the pictures you have posted, I would say that the job you are not happy with now would be better then what most of us are capable of (me included).

You might try to thin the paint more so that the drying time is accelerated. I have used retarder to get the opposite affect. Try a test patch and watch for too much thinner as it will run very easily.

eh i can't believe the paint store screwed up again!  This is bad.   Not sure what to do now.    Ummm yeah so what is the larger picture?  That I'm on a planet of hairless apes?    Trying to make something nice instead of just getting it done?    Or is it that I'm expecting too much for a $350 spoiler?     Am I trying too hard?  What does that even mean exactly?   If you were gonna try too hard on something, I guess this would be the thing to do it on!   :roflsmiley:

There is only one level, Either you achieve and maintain that level. Or you're just playing with it.   I'll "drive on" then.    Right over to the paint store!

Someday this will all be over and I can eat cheetos and watch tv.

it's time for some cheetoos then!   Yes, I am One who sands.   FINALLY!!!   This is what I was waiting for!  Came up with this mix on the Duster. They really screwed up down there at the paint store.       it really messes with my head. I kept waiting for it to flash and it just never did.  Like torture for a painter.  Took a day off and hammered out the hours at the shop.  Second shift starts in a couple  Gotta feed dogg.   He's been sick.   I got to step in it in bare feet this morning.  WoW what a feeling that is.   :poopoke:

Hood/Fender blackout is all I can think about now.  That line will be the most important tape line I've ever done. It's calling me now.      Turn to the dark side.

Oh, I plasti-dipped the rest of the wheels, Wait till ya see her!!!   Took the plastic off,  Need to wipe her down.

Looks really good. I am about to do the same black out on my Cuda (taillight panel, hood and tops of the fenders). It appears you have already cut and buffed the car, I am trying to determine if I should do that or scuff the areas that I am going to paint and then after cut and buff the rest of the car.
