You must have a breather on one side and a pcv valve on the other. PCV will try and suck on the engine gaskets/seals without that breather on the other side of the engine to make the pressure differential. Also, you want your PCV and breather on opposite sides of the engine so that clean air gets drawn across through the engine, and not just from the other side of the valve cover.

I ran the grommet kit that was in the MP catalog in mine and cuttin holes. sorry no part number at the moment

Maybe those arent the best choice, after looking again at them,i would need to run another unsightly hose to the aftermarket MP air cleaner I will be using, any suggestions?

this replaces one of your oil fill caps on one side. or sounds like it alteast

Or, i'm about 90% sure this is the MP kit i got with the two grommets needed. I used a hole saw to make both holes and found a breather and pcv that worked.

Trick with finding just any 'ol pcv or breather grommet is they have to be very thick to get through and seat right in those MP covers. The MP ones do work.

Just kidding but did you ever consider a road draft tube?  Drove a 62 Imperial that had one. No PCV, no breather. I run two breathers on the Hemi but I bought a PCV kit for the right cover. They are helpful for the motor gasses.

The draft tubes really only do anything when you are cruising down the road at a decent speed and air is flowing past them making the vacuum in the crankcase. So around town you wouldn't get any savenging from the crankcase gasses. Running a pcv will also help keep your oil much cleaner than without.

I used the a breather grommet for the cast covers and put the original PCV grommet into it and fit nice. I took off my factory chrome covers and got a pair of black wrinkle mopar's at a swap meet for $50.00, brand new in the box, just missing the baffles. No big deal just made some from aluminum I had. 20 minute job...Hey you got to get a good deal once in a while...
