Legendary door Panels

My new legendary door panels do not fit well i squezzed them on but now the top center of the door panels are bowed where they meet the window Any suggestions to improve fit ?

Up until now, all after-market door panels have been crap. Maybe a heat gun would help?   :dunno:

:iagree: Yup, it took us 2 sets to find this out. In the end I opted to restore/dye my original panels. They're good but I'm not 100% happy and have casually been looking for a nice set of black originals, mine were originally blue.

Whats the difference between legendary door pannels and original pannels (the plastic mould) - other then that legendary doesnt fit  :rofl:

It's the grain. They just don't match the originals. I have not seen a knock off that even comes close. Legendary seat covers are great, but forget about the plastic panels.

Thats just it, out here in the desert you can find wonderful rust-free cars but the interiors are just toast, brittle panels that dissolve into thin air when touched. There are not enough originals to feed the demand so the aftermarket offers them. Too bad they dont fit right, seems like the companies factored in too much shrinkage leaving the panels too large and never adjusted their molds.

If you were going to go with after market panels would who would you all go thru?? I have my originals but i dont think they are in that great of shape I guess i should send in some pics and let you all decide???

Why is it so difficult for these re-poppers to match the old grain?  New full-size Chevy/GMC trucks, although not the exact same material, have dashes and door panels that have almost the exact same grain pattern as the old E-bodies.  I don't understand why the people who go through the trouble of engineering machines to remanufacture the panels don't take the time to do it right.  You would think since they have the capability to make any grain at all, they may as well make the correct grain. :stomp:  I'm not in the market for panels, but I do feel for those bukus of people needing them for their cars.  If i had the know-how, I'd design some myself.

Well howcome there is a company that does door panels down here which sit in perfect?

Its just a reproduced original panel... ?

Like OEM Parts. Not made in the 70's but still the same thing that fits perfect?

And im talking they get 100's upon hundreds of them?

What company are you talking about ?
