Window Adjustment 70 Challenger

I just replaced all of the weatherstrip around the door and quarter windows and am having a little trouble. Everything is lined up pretty well however, with the door closed, as the window is wound up, it tends to want to go behind the quarter glass seal. The bottom channel adjustments are maxed out to tilt the glass outward at the top also. Any thoughts?

I have run into this , I have had to modify the mounts [bending shimming or welding to get the angle where it needs to be , possibly something is assembled wrong as well , there are adjustments top & bottom to change the angle but they often will not adjust far enough

This summer, I replaced the badly scratched door glass in my 73 Cuda with some used glass. I had to go through quite a few trial and error adjustments, but the diagram below helped me a lot.
I think in your case, you should be able to adjust the glass fore and aft by loosening the adjustment screw on the front slider (see diagram) and then push the glass forward until it clears the qtr. glass seal. You can adjust the fore and aft position of the glass, because the front slider bolts to a tab in the door frame that is slotted.

 Me too! And you are right plenty of trial and error.

 Well, I'm making progress, lowering the up stop on the quarter has helped a lot. When the glass tops out on the roof rail strip it tends to push the glass outward thus causing the interference.

 Now back to work.

 Finally (after about 6 hours)  got everything adjusted and fitting properly. 

 What worked for me as far getting the door glass over the quarter seal was pulling the door channel bottoms all the way in towards the interior which pushed the top outward. Also adjusting the quarter channel top and bottom inward towards the plastic panel wiper felts. As I mentioned earlier the roof weatherstrip will push the quarter glass outwards the higher it goes, so the stop was set to just seat on the rubber.

 The amount of slop in the mechanisms really make it difficult to obtain all of the desired margins and sealing. The driver door was the worst as it has been used the most. Possibly someone knows of replacement parts or a rebuilt kit for all of the moving parts, including pins and bushings?

  To be quite honest though, I won't tackle that one until the memory of this job fades away.

the first couple of time you do it it is  a miserable job , but after doing a few it is not too bad , I just rplaced all the rollers on the 1/4 windows on a Dart last week , it went alright , I cleaned & greased all the tracks & reset all the adjustments , had it done in about 1.5 hrs

I'll be the quarter window stop is what is wrong on my Cuda as it does the same thing. I'll have to adjust it and see what happens.

I have a rebuild kit for one window. I bought it from R/T specialties. I only needed to rebuild the drivers side so I still have 1/2 the stuff.I'll try to get pics of the pieces this weekend for you. I think I paid about $70 for the kit for both sides. If you want the stuff after I post a pic. Make me an offer. I'm not gonna use the rest of the parts. And my brother rebuilt my window and aligned it . It took him 4 hrs just to get the window out of the door( it got wedged in there) and he looked like this

 Yes Jackie I would be interested in the remaining parts for the window mechanism. Do you remember if it has the stops and upper felt pads that fit in the door also? One of mine is shot and started scratching the glass.

It doesn't have the felt pads. Last time I talked to the guy at R/T he was talking about reproducing them. I talked to a guy at an upolstery shop  and he said they use the soft side of velcro. I pick some up from the fabric store and just cleaned mine up and glued the velcro on.
